I was thinking on the way home today about the nerfed campain and this came to mind. Seeing as you can get deflect arrows and infinate deflection, making rangers utterly useless if they are skilled in the archery tree. Why isn't there a feat or two that lets long range people(People who use bows) to block melee? Considering the skill Deflect arrows says: DEFLECT ARROWS [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Dex 13, Improved Unarmed Strike. Benefit: You must have at least one hand free (holding nothing) to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. You must be aware of the attack and not flatfooted. Attempting to deflect a ranged weapon doesn’t count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons and ranged attacks generated by spell effects can’t be deflected. Special:A monk may select Deflect Arrows as a bonus feat at 2nd level, even if she does not meet the prerequisites. A fighter may select Deflect Arrows as one of his fighter bonus feats. Which more or less lets you reflex an attack, where as infinite deflection allows you to infinately deflect attacks from a ranger and it does not count as an action. My question is this. Are these feats over powered? |

It can only be used against a single ranged attack in a round and it requires two feats to do so. Not over-powered. Now there is the feat that allows you to deflect all arrows in a round using a two-handed weapon, it's in a Dragon magazine. That could be over powered. |

Thats not anything from basic D&D, so that is quite possible. Though I never did read it, it does seem overpowered if it allows infinite without any draw backs |

drawback: you have to be in total defense mode, which means you cant attack, but you cant be attacked. and its called spinning defense i think. |

I didn't know you had to be in total defence mode, cause when you used it against me you were charging me and you used it...Meh Well if thats the case then its not so over powered. |

Read this again, and I half agree with your Jim. Here isa feat I think would be appealing to you: Side-Stepping [General] Prerequisites: Dex 13, Dodge. Special: This feat cannot be used in the same round as Deflect Arrows. Benefit: During a round when you have at least a 5-step movement remaining, you can dodge a melee attack that would have otherwise stuck you. You must be aware of the attack and not be flat-footed. Using this feat does not count as an action. Unusually large weapons cannot be side-stepped, nor can magical attacks. |

so the is feat Side-stepping allows you to avoid any one melee attack that will otherwise strike you if you did not have this feat? |
