Carrionette [Abberation] Hit Dice: 10d8-5 (45hp) Initiative:+9 Speed: 20ft Armor Class:22 (10+5(dex)+4(natural)+1(dodge)+2(leather armor)) Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+1 Attack: +6/+1 Full Attack: +11Needles, +6Needles Space/Reach: .5/0 Special Attacks: Needles Special Qualities: Immunity to Cold, Spell-like Abilities, Possession, DR5/+1 Saves: Ref+15 Fort+4 Will+6 Abilities: Str8 Dex22 Con8 Will14 Int14 Cha16 Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Weapon Finesse (needles), Improved Initiative Skills: Disguise+25, Jump+13, Climb+13, Enviroment: -- Organization: Solitary Challenge Rating: 8 Treasure: none Alignment: Chaotic Evil Advancment: -- Level Adjustment: -- A dark shadow filters into the room, moonlight gently bouncing off the shards of glass covering the floor by the window, creating a grotesque atmosphere. A gentle breeze billows the satin white curtains. A calming element... if the breeze did not bring in a sweet macabre smell and if those satin curtains did not show specks of crimson blood. You hear the sound of wood on wood, falling from the bed a marionette. It hits the floor with an echoing thump. Each step closer to the doll your body begs for you to leave. Picking up the marionette and facing it to you, a sinister face meets your gaze. High crooked eye brows, eerily deep blue eyes, and a smile of malevolence is painted on.As you examine it, you feel a prick on your hand and notice it holds two silver needles in it's hands, one slightly red with your blood. The doll moves in your hand, it's eyes alive and a hollow laugh is heard... "Lets play a game...." Needles: Each Carrionette has a number of needles on them at all times. These needles are the only for of attack the Carrionette has, and they deal only 1point of damage. The real value of these attacks is that it can confer control of a victim over to the Carrionette. Every attack made by a Carrionette must be a called shot to a victims left or right arm or leg. After it hits all four spots, it can then attack the base of the victims neck. A sucessful attack gives complete control of the body to the Carrionette. Arms: When an arm is controlled the victim looses the benefits the weapon in that hand, cannot wield two-handed weapons, gains a 5% arcane failure chance(cannot cast spells with somatic component if both are controlled), looses the benefit of any shield attached to that arm. Legs: When a leg is controlled the victim's speed is reduced by half and they cannot run or charge. When both legs are controlled the victim looses all movement speed and is always considered flat-footed. Neck: Once this has been controlled, all side-effects of the other needles are removed since the body is now controlled by the Carrionette. The Victim is allowed a Will save of 16 to avoid being controlled. If successful, the Carrionette can attempt each round again increasing the DC by 1 each time. Each time a body part is controlled, the victims dexterity drops by two points. Unlike ability drain or damage, this cannot be regained until the needle is removed from the victims body. 1d4 rounds after it is removed, the dexterity is replaced as well as functionality of the limb. The damage of the needles are not deducted in any way; DR does not apply. To remove a needle it takes a DC30 Spot check to see and a DC20 Strength check to remove or 1 point of damage against an AC of 28 (including the penalties for attacking something so small). A Carrionette can only control one being at any given time. Possession: If a Carrionette has a needle in a victims neck, it can transfer its conscious to that body (and the body's conscious to the inanimate doll). This takes a full round of contact with the victim, and the victim must fail a DC17 will save. This can be attempted only once per day, each day that fails the DC increases by 1. Once it is done, the only way to return the body to its conscious is Wish magic or destroying the Carrionette's body (the doll). Destroying the doll forces the victim back into it's body. The Carrionette at any point can return to it's body and give the body back to he victim. A Carrionette often takes great measures to protect its doll body. (When possessing a victim, the Carrionette's CR is that of the victim +2. The Carrionette retains it's Int, Wis, and Cha score while adopting the Str, Dex, and Con of the victim. It can use any of it's spell-like abilities, the victims skills, but it cannot use the victim's spells. Spell-like Abilities: Charm Person 3/day, Suggestion 1/week, Mending 3/day, Repair Critical Damage 3/day |
