pirates: swashbucklers, rogues, fighters, maybe mages

thats four different classes, without denis there then thats one different class for each of us!

Swashbuckler = PrC

That and any class can be a pirate, you are just not thinking the possibilities a druid pirate would offer... or a sorcerer/wizard pirate... or a cleric pirate... The only one thing that might become obsolete is the ranger, though even then I would alter it a little to make it good for the sea. What I was talking about is that you guys usually only play the same classes or class-types over and over.

Swashbuckler isn't a PrC; it is a base class. :) You're thinking Duelist. Also, indeed, any class can be a pirate; there are gods of the sea, are there not? Clerics and druids become available. Cartographers, sea-scryers--Ideal for Wizards. Diplomats and "questionable" lawyers--Perfect for Bards, Sorcerers or other high Charisma classes.

SO it seems, my bad then. But, like I said, anything can be good out on the ocean. A Necromancer who summons undead kraken? Killer.

I vote on a pirate camp and suspend the ranger camp until dendun gets his arse back into D&D mode -nod-
