No, it's not April Fool's; this is for real. Some of the same folks behind the very popular Lion King musical are producing Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, a Broadway Musical, and Bono and The Edge from U2 are writing the music. There's not much more news than that, save that it is expected to open in February, next year.

All I can think is that comics must really be mainstream now, if someone is doing a comic-book musical. Either that, or Broadway is completely out of ideas. I guess we'll find out soon.
