WHAT THE FUCK?
I'll start with the very basics, which is our new formatting buttons.

As you can see, you can now select a block of text, click the Bold button, and the proper tags will now encase what you had selected, for instance. This means you can type what you want to say first and save the tags for later and generally is easier to use.

You can do the same for

Quotes
of course.

Also, if you want to make text bigger, select it, and click Bigger. If you want it to be even bigger, click Bigger many times while the text is selected.

There are also some hidden formatting options you can type out manually for different more fancy effects. For instance, you can create a box of color around text with the [border=red] and [/border] (or whatever color) tags.

We've also got a brand new way of embedding YouTube videos!

Simply use the [flash=x,y] [/flash] tags, and put the URL of the YouTube video between the tags. Also, change X and Y to the width and the height in pixels you want the embedded video to be.

This is Rick Roll at 200x200 pixels. Sweetness, yes?

If for some inane reason you want to speak in the third person, you can use the [me] tag where you want your forum name to be put. CaptainDingo loves cookies!

Last but certainly not least, we have something I've wanted for a long time... proper fucking Spoiler tags! That's right, just encase your spoiler in [spoiler] [/spoiler] these little doodads and you get this... super fancy fail-safe spoilers that can't be accidentally read!

In terms of new board features, there are a few of note. Firstly, your Preferences now consists of three dropdown items, Avatar, Signature, and Update Profile.

Inside Update Profile, you've got many of the same options you had before. One option though that you may not have noticed is the Joinable Groups link in your profile settings.

This takes you to a list of groups you can join... their usefulness is merely demographic.

For instance, the two example groups I've created, Ninja Fans and Pirate Fans, would encourage everyone to join one of the two groups, and anyone can look at Ninja Fans and see the list of everyone who likes ninjas, or go to Pirate Fans and see the list of everyone who likes pirates.

I'm sure it has more practical applications, and I'll look into it.

Another cool thing is you now have the Change Username option in the Update Profile section as well. This streamlines the process of changing your username, if it's no longer suiting you. You just go there, type in your desired new username, and submit it where I then either validate the change or deny it from my Admin panel.

Zetaboards also allows me to create custom profile fields, so expect me to be throwing in all sorts of stuff you can update your profile with, including favorite food, favorite music, religion, whatever.
