CHARACTER DOCUMENTATION
Character Name: Iphigenie Desdemona Crosby
Character Nickname: Gennie
Character Age: 16
Character Year: Sixth Year
House/Alumni: Ravenclaw...?

Physical Appearance:In a world where perfection is everything and beauty is seen as a gift from god, Gennie didn’t always measure up. Sure, she was pretty and thin, but in a gangly sort of a way. Dancing for twelve years had removed any sort of feminine figure and replaced her with flat muscle. Basically, she had the body of a 9 year old little boy. The fact that she was roughly 5’0” didn’t help the matter. Iphigenie came from a family of relatively short people, but she beat them all. She was the runt, the scrawny and short one and she always had been. It never made battling to keep up with the neighborhood boys friends any easier, and the fact that she had short hair until she was eleven did not help her maintaining a status of beauty.

In the case of Gennie, she was one of those people who grew into herself as she got older. When she was younger she had mousy brown hair and bland green eyes, which were not helpful at all in addition to her skin-and-bones figure. But as she aged her hair gained a natural wave and the color changed to a warm honey brown. Her eyes grew deeper and changed to a more emerald hue. Her face thinned out and her gained hips, minimal of course, but hips nonetheless.

Gennie’s always had that sort of bookwormy and frumpy look about her. Her hair is often disheveled and she almost always has her face buried in her notebook, where she spends the majority of her time writing her ideas and observations down. A cup of tea is often glued to her palm. She does dress appropriately, of course, knowing full when that some degree of poise is necessary. She does clean up very nicely, it’s just rare for most people to see that side of her.

Personality and Traits:Someone’s personality is quite possibly the hardest thing to describe. With secrets and heartaches locked away it is extremely hard to describe someone to who they truly are. After all, the world only sees so much. What is shown is only what a person wants to be shown.

Despite being a more reserved person, the young Crosby girl is the epitome of a little kid at heart. She is bright, bubbly, and just a general sweetheart. She's the type of person to make sure everyone feels welcomed and invited into the group. It is common, however, to see the young girl wondering the grounds by herself. She enjoys her moments of solitude in which to contemplate the world. It is her time to ponder and escape from the business that is adolescence.

Gennie is in fact extremely intelligent. She refuses to let her marks slip and spends as much as time as needed to keep them at a respectable level. She has always been bright and academics are where she chose to accel. She never had any inclination to pursue quidditch or athletics of any sort, and her studies have always been her first priority. She often was one to chose to study over being with her friends.

When she gets angry she is the type of person to lock herself in her room and hide. She doesn't like to let other people see her in pain or frustration. Though when she is, by accident, seen in a frenzy, she covers it up by running away quickly and hiding in her dorm until she calmed down. She usually draws to keep herself from getting frustrated. Drawing is her way of letting her anger and emotions escape in a calm fashion.

Gennie is somewhat of a golden child. She flirts, but nothing to be deemed uncivilized. And she is proper and intelligent, and kind. Iphigenie was always one to make her parents proud. Though the need for perfection often hindered her life socially.

Background/Family History:pureblood family known as the Crosby's had betrayed her parents’ wishes and ran off with the handsome young French man from the Rousseau family. It was a scandal within in the wizarding world. A pureblood girl had refused her betrothal and married another man, visibly pregnant when they were in fact wed. But what was only revealed when Iphigenie was born would cause even more scandal in the Crosby family. Pierre-Bernard, the wealthy young man, was a muggle. There was no drop of wizarding blood in him. It was something not even Eleanor, Gennie's mother. had known until it was too late.

Iphigenie’s father had abandoned she and her mother upon the realization that they were “crimes against nature.” It took all of her mother’s strength not to murder the man whom she had told she loved. The mother and daughter moved into the grandparents’ household. Gennie was raised as a pureblood, with pureblood views. Neighbors forgot the troubling times and embraced the young girl as the skilled and opinioned witch she would become. But the summer before her sixth year, Gennie came face to face with the secrets of her birth.

She had been with her neighborhood friends. They often sat and talked in different little areas around her home. On her walk home a strange man crossed her path. He grabbed her by the shoulders and seemed to look her over. He muttered something about “same eyes. The same eyes,” but Gennie was not capable of making it out. The man had hugged her and she had pulled her wand on him. He yelled at her to put her freakish toys away and that’s when it happened. She sent a few little curses in his direction and he yelled back before running away. He yelled how he pitied her mother and that Gennie had grown to be ugly and that she would never even have the “privilege” of someone like him. She had no reply. She ran home to her mother. That night she was told the story.
