The way you laugh...
Ravenclaw Student
Nathan Monoxi hummed thoughtlessly to the music, which was blasting through the headphones that sat loosely upon his messy-haired head. He his gaze looked from his feet towards the bright, grinning sky. It seemed to be a lot happier than he was, today. He felt a mixture of feelings today. He was filed with anger, though overlaid with a bit of sadness. He was unbelievably bored, and began humming again. He looked down at his feet, below, kicking some dirt and a rock. He was happy that he got his braces removed only a few weeks before; they were bright white in color, and unbelievably straight. They never have been before this time, and it was something to smile about. Everything else? Well, it sucked. He didn’t know what his attitude was about today, and it was sadly unlike him. His lengthy brown hair darkened over his eyes, making it only possible to see below. He switched onto the next track of the CD, humming a long with that one, too. The disk was a mix. He burned a bunch from home, and luckily, his aunt had a CD burner. He brought many of them to Hogwarts, to calm his yearn for music. Think about it; what was this world without it? The song played on, recognized as ‘Better Days’ by the beloved Goo Goo Dolls. He actually thought about doing a little dance, by now. He bit his lip, one of his many habits, walking out further in the field. Not many people were out here, on this Friday. It was a surprise, really. He found a large, shady Oak, sliding his back down the trunk and sitting beneath it. His feet tapped harshly on the grass to the beat of the music, as his eyes closed and his head leaning on the sturdy trunk. He didn’t care what people thought of his strange behavior, frankly. And no one should.

The fifteen-year-old Ravenclaw was a strange boy. He always seemed to stick out from everyone else. The one in your class that fell asleep half of the time, but managed to pass the grade. The one who was doing Transfiguration homework in Potions, woke up at nine, and stayed up till four – but managed to survive. He wasn’t exactly a ‘Straight ‘A’ student’ but the teachers understood his outlook on life. The nocturnal boy yawned, and looked back down – in this case, directly in front of him. Why was everyone... Everything, So empty? He merely shrugged and didn’t question it. This boring silence – besides the music, of course – was rotting his brain out. Normally he’d be out with friends or finding some, but he didn’t feel like it. He was rather lazy today – of all days. He yawned again, slouching lower against the tree. Everything was too bright, perky and alive. Why did it have to reflect the opposite of what he felt about this damn school? This school seemed too... ‘Mary-sue’. His eyes closed one last time, before the world was flipped.

He was short, lighter or hair, and his eyes were lit with happiness. A large smile was stretched across his face. His mother and father were finally coming home after the long week, and he’d see his older sister again. He could remember clearly why they were gone for so long, and why he couldn’t come – but none of that mattered now, it didn’t. It was extremely boring in this Australian suburbia, without stories of the past from his Parents and his older sister to taunt. She was fifteen years old, returning from a school called ‘Hogwarts.’ His parents explained it before, but he never really understood. They told him that he would in a matter of a few years, and he’d merely shrug or nod. He waved his hands above his head, his babysitter standing with a grin behind him. She was about seventeen, and the local babysitter. He’d yell ‘You’re home!’ a few times before seeing the grins of his family not far away. They were only down the street. He ran toward the car, yet nowhere near half way there. The car was crossing the intersection near his house, and a sudden flash of light was seen. A long honk streamed, the headlights of a large semi truck only now flashing on. A look of horror appeared of his mother’s face, though his father seemed not to notice. He was still smiling towards his young son, and so was his older sister. A sheer sound of metal colliding said it all, the smile forever slipping from young Nathan’s face, the blood rushing to his heart, beating quickly and skipping two beats. The breath slowly slipped from his small lungs, his wrists shaking.

Another light flashed throughout the pictures and memories of his mind.

Nathan Joel Monoxi, Age nine.

The trees continued to look down at him, as he stared blankly in front of him. His hands were shaking again, and his hair and face were damp with sweat.

...Some things....

Are just best left Forgotten.

Meg Smith was walking around the castle at Hogwarts. Just as most people saw her, she was carrying a book with her. Half the time she was carrying some book in her hands. From school books, library resources, books for reading, artistic books, and more even, she would carry it with her. She didn't exactly like carrying big piles of books around with her, so she would go on more than one trip, or try to limit the amount of books that she wanted to carry to her dorm room. Or perhaps just in the common room or around the castle. Which ever she felt like doing at the time would be the thing that she would do. Or, atleast try to do.

Meg sighed softly to herself and looked down at her sandaled feet as she walked. Another thing that seemed common from her was roaming the castle bored as ever. But, she usually got over it sooner or later. Anyway, back to the book in her hand. Yes, this time it was a painting book. Now, you might want to know, why would she have a painting book if she already knew how to paint? Well, Meg didn't have how to paint books, rather, she had painting books that she was using to hopefully increase her style of painting. With that, it would increase her knowledge of famous artists and artworks. Of course, she already had a style in mind, but she figured that she'd give the artistic books a shot first before even attempting to apply anything.

Meg walked out to the Student Courtyard. It was a nice, and sunny day outside that day. Not to mention bright out. It was rather unfortunate that it was so nice out, yet the Wizarding World was going to go into yet another war soon. She had read up from the Daily Prophet of Rufus Scrimgeour's death, and knew that it wasn't just concidence. It was obviously in an effort to take down each person that they all held to be the reason for Voldemort's last downfall. Yes, that's right, Meg wasn't scared to say Voldemort's name. This was of course, unlike most other people who were scared to say his name.

Meg walked out into the Student Courtyard, and she noticed Nathan sitting underneath an oak tree listening to music. Not to mention the fact that he looked like he was just in a daydream with a horrible experience. She decided to go up to him and talk to him. Perhaps talking a little might help him? She walked over to where Nathan was seated. Upon reaching him, she smiled kindly to him. "Hi Nathan, is something wrong?" she asked him as she noticed the sweat, and trembling. She pulled out a hankerchief from her pocket and offered it to him.

((Hopefully you don't mind if I join?))
