Meg Smith was walking in the hallways at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was wearing a sleeve-less pink shirt, baggy blue jeans, and pink flip-flops on her feet. As she walked, she watched her feet. She sighed lightly as she walked through the corridor. She was planning to hopefully head outside or just perhaps somewhere else in the castle. Preferably somewhere where she wasn't as bored, or make that bored at all. That would be a good thing. A really good thing for that matter.

As Meg walked through the corridor, she was thinking about her artistic nature, the arts, and hopefully finding a place where she could practice her art. She had herself an artistic knack, and half the time carried a sketch pad with her as she was now. She both drew and painted, and most times did both when ever she was doing a new piece of art. Of course, she wasn't attempting to be better than other artists or anything. She just did as she seemed fit to do. She hoped to develop her own style as she worked, but she hadn't done that yet unfortunately.

Unknown to Meg though, was the fact that she had been going around in complete circles, because of the fact that she wasn't watching where she was going. She had went around in three complete circles before she had finally stopped doing so. By this time, she finally knew that she was going around in complete circles. She mumbled lightly to herself as she noticed it. She wasn't one who actually walked in circles or anything like that. So, why start now then?

Meg sighed lightlly to herself, and brushed a piece of her brown hair with blonde highlights out of her face, in which was down that day with nothing in it for once. Her brown eyes spotted a door not too far away which had never been there before. She looked at it for a few seconds before finally registering that she had never seen it before. It wasn't often that she actually saw doors like that, so she shrugged lightly to herself. She turned towards the door and walked to it. Upon reaching the door, she turned the door knob and opened up the room. She stepped into it.

Meg's brown eyes opened wide as she noticed everything inside of it. There were art pallets, boards, clay, paint, brushes, pencils, and other forms of art and the needed materials for each one. On the walls hung several paintings from famous artists: Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali, etc. It looked like an Art Studio. 'I never knew that Hogwarts had an art studio,' she thought to herself.

Meg shrugged lightly and smiled lightly to herself. Atleast she had found something that could keep her preoccupied for atleast a while. She walked over to a pallet that was in a corner of the room, and she sat down on a stool in front of it, because she didn't really feel like standing. She then began to paint on the pallet with black paint. She was planning on doing a few random paintings before doing anything of any mild interest.

[[forgiven ^.^]]

It was midday. According to Jacob's head, that was a few hours from his next class. Hogwarts was careless with their programming and had given him the whole afternoon off. It had been going on for quite a while, although he didn't exactly mind it. For one thing, it gave him a chance to wander about the long halls and floors with a sense of peace. Not going anywhere near the classrooms where students would be looking at him, but in the cooriders where people would not be seen. He was used to being alone and it was such a sad thought and yet it didn't bother him that much.

Maybe it was because he had alwyas been lonely in those days. People didn't really bother to talk to him simply because he didn't seem interesting enough. How wrong they were. As soon as someone ever striked up a conversation never left without having something to think about. On this day he had no one to talk to. He had circulated the fourth floor and slowly decended down to the the third and saw that a little figure was doing the same as he.

It was rare to find anyone doing the same as he. He slowly walked over, not in a real rush to get to the girl's place. She was a Ravenclaw, he could tell. No one else would just circulate the cooridors just 'for the heck of it' One thing he knew was that he was in her house. Around talking to some of the other students and maybe walking past him to go to class. Either way, he had never really gotten a chance to talk to her.

One minute she was there, entering and the next, she was gone. Jacob blinked. Now...where was she? He took his hands out of his jeans and scratched his head. He had a desire to know where she had went. She wasn't the most important thing on earth; not to Jacob anyway. But at that moment, he had nothing better to do.

Where is she?

Instantly a door appeared right around the corner of his eyes, sitting there as if it had never left and a smile creeped onto his face. Ah, the Room of Requirement. He would remember this. Slowly he walked over to the door and twisted open the knob to reveal the girl that he had kept his eye on for so long. She was sitting and painting. A litte bit of interest perked up but his face still remained emotionless.

He wondered when the girl would soon begin to realize that he was standing there.

Meg sat there, staring blankly at the white canvus in front of her. She had already drawn black lines on the paper, resembling absolutely nothing. 'So, this is how it feels to have an artistic block,' she thought to herself. A couple of drops of black paint have landed on her blue jeans, but she took no notice to them. She never minded it if she were to get paint on herself. Actually, she liked it, since then it made her look more like an artist. But, everything has it's extremes, so she obviously wouldn't cover herself in paint or anything. That would be way too over the edge, not to mention something that she wouldn't do.

Meg's dark brown eyes looked down to the ground, noticing the black paint on her pants, but simply shrugged at its sight. She sighed softly to herself, and raised up one of her legs. She brought close to herself, and placed her foot on the stool. She looked down at her toes, and sighed again to herself. She honestly had no inspiration at all, which wasn't a good sign at all. But, she figured that many artists started off with no inspiration. She raised the paint brush again, and connected the lines on the canvus. She looked at it for a few seconds, still not thinking of anything that she could do with it.

Meg sighed again to herself, and rested her head sideways on her knee. She continued to stare at the canvus. She raised the paint brush again, and put in a few more lines on the painting. Not just straight lines either, but many of them were diagonal. She then connected some of these lines together, forming smaller objects on the paper. After a few more seconds of doing this, she stopped for a few seconds. She tilted her head a little bit more, and giggled softly to herself as she noticed the painting to vaguely resemble the Hogwarts Castle.

There were differences of the castle from her drawing. One in being that her drawing just seemed to be like random lines put on the canvus, which they truely were. But, the shape of the caslte could be seen from it. To her, it seemed as if she was doing an abstract drawing. It was just fine with her, and plus she didn't necessarily need to be sitting in front of the castle to actually do the painting. She liked that better, since she had no idea if she would be able to find the room again if she were to actually leave it's protection.

Meg had been sitting on the stool painting for a while now. However, she had completely failed to notice that a boy had walked into the room right after she did. Make that, the boy had came in not too long after she did. Yet, she failed to actually see the boy. That was one of her weaker points. When she worked, she stood more of a chance to not see something for a while. Which would obviously bad if the boy had came to attack her. Thankfully, that wasn't the case or anything. But, she still failed to see the boy from the beginning. She continued to fail to see him as she sat there, painting on the canvus. Now, she had changed to blue paint, and was abstractly painting the sky near the top of the painting.

After a few more moments, Meg looked up from her painting. Her brown eyes recognized a boy standing in the doorway. A quick look at him made her recognize him as a boy from her house that she had never talked to before. 'But, then, how did he know that I am in here?' she thought to herself. She shrugged off the question, and blushed lightly. Her cheeks turned a light pink as she looked up at the boy. "H-hi," she stammered out of her mouth. "Um, how long were you standing there?" she asked him, with a kind voice.

The place seemed to be fit for the girl. She was sitting contently enough on the seat and it fited to her heart's desire. Her brown hair was slightly tilted to the side and she seemed pretty heavy into her work. Jacob didn't mind being ignored. He was already used to that for most of his life. Instead, he sat down for a little while on a comfy chair that he had thought up of. It was amazing what the room of requirement could do.

As Jacob thought about it, the more it acured to him that people could be completly spoiled in this room. All their wants, desires, and needs were given in a blink of an eye and others would think that it had been lying there for days, maybe even weeks. It seemed that the girl was taking it to the fullest advantage.

I should really stop calling her girl Jacob thought, feeling a bit guilty for stalling all this way and not even knowing the girl's name after all this time. All through the way he had played with the little thin silver chain around his neck. The special symbol that helped him going all through the years. Not that it was really hard.

Before he had a real chance to speak he saw that she actually noticed her.
"H-hi,"

How awful. He made the girl talk first. He saw the girl blush a light shade of pink and had to blush himself. He was always such a shy boy; hopeless romantic and it did no good for other girls to see him in this state. He quickly stood up from his spot and scratched his head, it wasn't the best thing to do. A thought of apologizing popping in, but then he held back. Before making another careless move she had to speak again.

"Um, how long were you standing there?"

Jacob smiled that little smile but returned to his emotionless expression. "Not long," he assured her. What would someone feel if they knew that someone was looking into their own business. He tilted his head at the painting that the girl...Margaret? Megan? What was her name? The inability to figure it out frustrated him.

Meg sat there, looking over her painting that she had just recently began to add color to. She had never came across the room that she was currently in, and figured that she should look that up. She believed that the answer was probably in, Hogwarts, a History. But, she truely had no idea. In her mind, she caculated what floor she was on. Taking a small paint brush, she painted: '7G' onto her hand. She would probably look up the room later, and figured that it was all right for her to intentially paint on herself. Well, she honestly didn't care before if she were to get paint on herself, so she wouldn't care if she were to intentially paint herself. Plus, she had no other choice to do that, since she had no other writing instruments around her.

Meg had thought initially that the room was an art studio in Hogwarts. But, by now, she was doubting that. That would mean that for five years at Hogwarts, she hadn't noticed or even heard of the room until this point. Absurd! She clearly understood that there might be rooms that she had never seen before in the castle, and probably never would. But, at the same time, if this room truely was an art room, she had to doubt that she would never heard of it. So, that still didn't give her the answer to what the room truely was. But, at the moment, it was an art studio, so she figured that she would still take advantage of the fact that she was able to find such a room in the castle.

Meg looked over at the boy again with her brown eyes. She knew that she had seen him before in the common room, or perhaps around the corrdiors. 'Nah, it probably was the common room,' she thought to herself. She knew that she had seen the boy indeed in the common room, and knew that he was a rather shy boy. Of course, that didn't take away from anything that she knew about him. She knew for a fact that she didn't know the boy, and wouldn't quickly judge of the type of person that he was. That was, not yet anyway. She wanted to first get to know the boy before making any judgements.

Meg's cheeks still had a pink tinge to them, but a soft smile was also evident on her face. She nodded lightly. "All right," she replied to him. She placed the paint brush that she was holding down near where she was working, and smiled lightly to him. "I'm Megan, and you are?" she asked him kindly.

As he brought up the pink shade in her face, Jacob knew that he must have done something wrong. He was just paranoid like that, not having much experience with girls, old or small. This one had to be a fifth year. The look that she was putting through made it seem so. He looked around and wondered if anyone else was there. It didn't seem so.

"All right,"

Jacob just merely nodded at the answer. He was too unsure of himself to actually have a proper conversation. He was, after all, a true Ravenclaw. The girl at least had some spunk she could have passed for a Hufflepuff if she tried hard enough.

"I'm Megan, and you are?"

Jacob looked at the girl and tried to think. Megan! So that was her name. It suited her, in a way. "Jacob. McLaggen," he replied, not really sure if he had said Jacob or Jacky. She seemed kind enough. Maybe he wouldn't be scowled or punished for it. The whole situation was very uncomfortable.

But to get his mind off of things, he decided that maybe he would just talk about something else. It was, at the moment, an art studio. Might as well make...light conversation. "So...you're painting," he stated rather dumbly. Of course she was painting! What else would she do here? Read?

He blinked and waited for an answer. If anyone had half a brain, they would figure that he was at least trying.

When Meg had first said something, she was blushing to him. But, that was only because of two factors. One, being, that she was just surprised in him being there. She had never been followed before as she thought she was, and it surprised her. She wasn't mad or anything at him, just surprised. The other factor was that she didn't want him to think that she was ignoring him. She hadn't noticed him when he entered the room, and she had no idea when that was. She was just too engrossed in her artwork. A third factor could be passed off as a little bit of shyness. But, it was mostly because she was so used to doing her artwork alone, and in silence, that she seemed to grow it into a habit. She may have a bit of shyness, but none that would inhibit her ability to speak to other people.

Meg looked over at the boy again as he just merely nodded at her answer. What else could she honestly say to that answer? Perhaps she could've started off a conversation, but at that moment, she had only been concerned with answering the question, not trying to think up of other ones. She wrapped her arms around her raised knee, still leaning her head ontop of her knee. However, she still looked over to the boy. She wasn't trying to cause any uncomfortableness, she was just trying to see if he could bring about some type of inspiration to her Ravenclaw mind.

Meg smiled again as he spoke his own name. 'Ah, so that's his name......I'll take a mental note of that, and will remember it when I'd probably see him in the Common Room again so I don't seem stupid,' she thought to herself. "It's nice to meet you Jacob," she said to him, kindly. She noticed the way that he said his name, but still managed to get what he said. She wouldn't comment on the way that he spoke or anything like that. Her smile was still on her face when she had replied to him.

Meg picked up the paint brush again, and dipped it in green paint. She raised her hand again, and started to abstractly paint the grounds of Hogwarts around it. She nodded lightly and sighed as he asked her a question. She placed the brush down, and turned the canvus around for him to see. "Yes, I am. But, sadly, it probably sucks," she stated with a sigh, "It's susposed to be an abstract drawing of Hogwarts." She lifted her head from her knee after a few moments. "So, what are you doing?" she asked him, trying to help fuel their conversation.

"It's nice to meet you Jacob,"

Jacob nodded and glad that the tension was at least gone a bit from the room. He sighed and sat back down on the couch. He smiled a bit and decided that it would be nice to say it back. "Yeah. You too,"

"Yes, I am. But, sadly, it probably sucks,"

Jacob smiled, not really wanting to believe that the piece of 'art' that was in front of both Megan and Jacob could be called 'sucked' The work was amazing! As if it was really Hogwarts. Only different. Because it just wasn't like ... that. Art was a hard thing to explain. It could easily represent something, but unless you were an artest or the painter, no one else could really decribe it the same or as well. And then she went onto her explaining.

"It's susposed to be an abstract drawing of Hogwarts."

Ah, there is was. 'Abstract' Nothing that Jacob could have thought of when he saw the painting, and yet it clearly indicated so. "I think its great." he said, maybe boosting up the girl's spirit. "Really great,"

"So, what are you doing?"

Jacob bit his lower lip and laughed a bit, not really knowing how to answer that. He was bored, and so he had followed her, that was what he was doing. But saying so would make someone, namly him, sound like an idiot. "I was just...you know." he lowered his head and laughed. "Following you, actually," Before she jumped into any conclusions, he added. "I really had nothing else to do,"

Wow...great going.

Meg looked over at Jacob as he nodded back to her. She was glad that she was able to find out his name, for she was sure of the fact that she had seen him around the common room before. However, a disadvantage to seeing someone in the common room, was the fact that they didn't exactly know each other. They've just seen each other, not necessarily talked or anything like that. Otherwise, there was really no other way they could know each others names with out talking, so she wasn't surprised by the fact that she didn't know his name. She nodded lightly to the answer that he gave her, "Yeah."

Meg smiled back to him, pushing a piece of her brown hair behind her ear. She always critized her own artwork. Naturally, she would tweak it and make it better, but she didn't always do that. Even though she always critized her own work, she loved each piece that she made, no matter how shitty or good it was. She knew that not everything was good when first done, and she seemed to take a good deal of time doing things over, and practicing so she could do it better next time. She loved artwork, and liked to do her own, but at the same time, she loved to critize it too. To her, she couldn't get better without first being critized.

Meg looked over at Jacob as he told her that it was good. She smiled lightly to him, then shrugged. "Thanks, but still, it looks to me as if I could do better," she replied with a sigh. "But, thanks though for the compliment," she replied to him with a sweet smile.

Meg looked over at Jacob, awaiting his reply to her question. As she was waiting, she repositioned herself on the stool. She had both feet now on the metal bar that went around the stool. She looked up at him as he laughed a bit, and she had on a confused look. As soon as he said that he followed her, her cheeks burned red hot again from embarassement. She looked quickly down at her feet as he said so. But, just as quickly, she looked up again. "O-oh. W-well, I-I g-gu-guess that I-I was a -a bit b-boring t-to-to f-follow t-then," she stammered to him, shyly. She obviously hadn't thought that anyone would bother to follow her anywhere. Yet, here was Jacob, and he had followed her. She was completely surprised by that.

"Thanks, but still, it looks to me as if I could do better,"

Jacob wondered, if that was Megan's best, what would her worst be? Judging from the painting, that was just something that she whipped up before he had gotten to the room. It was a work in progress and Jacob was glad that he could see it. He knew that many other artists would be so possesive about their works of art, they would hide it at any cost. "What's your best?" he asked with his eyebrow raised.

"But, thanks though for the compliment,"

Jacob nodded. "No problem," he said, as if he had just done some small light favor. He was always used to being the nice guy. People complimented him for keeping his temper even at the worst of times. Maybe it was because of being raised so nicely and with a bunch of girls. But it was the person he was.

"O-oh. W-well, I-I g-gu-guess that I-I was a -a bit b-boring t-to-to f-follow t-then,"

It was a real struggle to first hear what in the world Megan was even saying. He made her studder. Jacob felt horrible for making the girl feel so uncomfortable. He had that reaction the same when hot or girls that just started talking to him made him feel. Uptight and uncomfortable. "Um. I didn't really," he sighed and continued on. "I'm not saying your boring! Or...or anything uh, like that."

For Jacob, communicating problems was not his forte. "I'm sorry," he blurted out, not knowing what else to do to get on a decent side of being at least friends.

Meg knew for a fact that Jacob obviously had no idea how she painted or anything to know exactly what was her best and what wasn't. Make that, she wondered why he hadn't seemed to not believe her, since she was the artist after all. In her own eyes, she thought she could do better. But, to other people, they thought it was great. Completely two contradicting forces about the same thing. But, as people say, opposites attract, so no one would really know what they thought of it. But, she still liked it when people said her work was good, for even at times, she agreed with them. It probably seemed rather odd that she managed to find something good about her artwork, but it did happen sometimes. Just not with this particular artwork that she had just been doing.

Meg looked over at him as he asked her what her best is. She took out her sketch pad that she had been carrying with her, and she handed it to him. "I don't have myself a favorite one, I like them all. However, I would prefer either way to allow you to look at everything that I've done," she replied to him as she handed over the sketch pad. The first few pages were pictures of herself and her family. There were pictures of various landscapes, and still objects. There were the ocassional unfinished doodles and what-not in the pad. One of the last finished paintings was one of the Ravenclaw Common Room, painted right after the Welcome Feast to the school. One after that was of the Ravenclaw Common Room of the Christmas from last year too, all decorated and everything.

Meg looked over at Jacob and nodded back to what he said. "Yeah," she replied back to him. She didn't mind the fact that he was a nice guy or anything like that, but she knew that other people probably did mind, but oh well.

Meg looked over at Jacob, still blushing a little bit. She knew that it was probably hard to understand her since she was studdering after all. But, that was how she had responded to him. All that she would need to do now was to wait for his reaction, and see what would happen. "I'm sorry if you think you did something bad. It was just that it was surprising to me to know that you had followed me," she replied as she looked away from him, "Plus I feel bad for not noticing you earlier."

Meg looked back up at Jacob, and thought for a second. "I'm sorry for acting as if you did something wrong," she said to him.

"I don't have myself a favorite one, I like them all. However, I would prefer either way to allow you to look at everything that I've done,"

Jacob smiled slightly and nodded. "I'd be glad to. It'd be wrong to have a favorite portrait. It's like favoring children," Jacob didn't know that much about portraits, but he did know that artist treated them with utter care. People were protective about certain things. One of them being their paintings and colors splattered on white or black.

"I'm sorry if you think you did something bad. It was just that it was surprising to me to know that you had followed me,"

Jacob shook his head with understanding. "I do weird things, you shouldn't mind me," he said. It was one of those things that he had always gotten. His actions surprised many. Unpredictable; but they just never really knew him well enough. No one seemed to.

"Plus I feel bad for not noticing you earlier."

That seemed to be another thing that people did. Not notice him. He was ... unnoticable. The guys could be standing there and not really see that he was really in front of his face. Not a lot of people do," he mumbled. People, even teachers, never really noticed him. His actions were little and they would only recognize change if they looked for it.

"I'm sorry for acting as if you did something wrong,"

"Oh no, It's quite alright," Jacob replied quickly. He didn't want the girl apologizing. People never understood that girls were beings and ladies. Handle them well or don't handle them at all. "I should really apologize. I could leave now if you wish." Jacob said quietly, starting to stand up as he said this. "To leave you to your painting,"

Meg smiled to Jacob, and nodded a bit after she had passed him the sketch pad. "That's good. That may be so, but at the same time, people may have one that they like more than another portrait. The same thing with children. Though people may try not to favor them, they have one child or so that they prefer above the others," she replied to him. She wasn't trying to change his perspective or anything, she was merely challanging what he said. She truely didn't have a favorite painting of hers or anything, but she might have liked a few others more than the rest of her own artwork, which was probably going to happen to anything and anyone.

Meg shrugged lightly at his reply. "Everyone does something wierd once in a while, so It's perfectly all right," she replied to him. She didn't mind the fact, but the only reason why she was concerned about him following her, was because she didn't expect it. Otherwise, she didn't mind. Well, that, and as long as he didn't try to attack her or anything. Then, she wouldn't mind at all. Of course, she didn't really expect him to know that yet or anything. So, she would just continue on with what he was saying for the moment.

Meg pushed a piece of her brown hair behind her ear as she looked over at him. She heard his mumbling, and she looked at him, slightly confused on why he would say that. "Why would you say that for? I'd doubt that you aren't noticed by everyone. But, even so, how many that you know of besides me actually feels bad for not noticing you?" she asked him in a kind voice. She wanted him to know that she did care that she didn't notice him before. But, could you honestly blame her for not noticing him? After all, he did follow her into the room without her knowing. So, it would only be a matter of time until she actually saw him there. Either rate, she still felt bad about it, and wanted him to know it.

Meg noticed his rather quick reply to what he said. "It isn't, I have a feeling that you seem uncomfortable with what I said," she replied quietly. She knew that her voice was probably hard to hear then, but she had really no idea of how to express herself anyway. "You don't need to apologize, and you don't need to leave," she replied to him, "It sometimes gets rather boring when you're alone and painting like I just was. I'd accept your company if you want to still be here with me." She looked over at him, standing up herself.

[[SOOOO sorry for the late reply. Very busy; brain dead; computer decides to be mean. Please forgive ><]]

"That's good. That may be so, but at the same time, people may have one that they like more than another portrait. The same thing with children. Though people may try not to favor them, they have one child or so that they prefer above the others,"

It was that statement that had sent him into a thinking mode. There were times when something struck Jacob and that he had to think for a minute beefore answering. He thought about his large number of siblings and it was easy to be shadowing into them all because there were so many and some did better than others. Jacob never really liked that feeling. Not because he liked attention; far from it. It was just that a mothers love towards all her children was much better than favoring. "Are you an only child?" he asked.

"Everyone does something wierd once in a while, so It's perfectly all right,"

Jacob nodded. "Its probably more than perfectly alright," he answered back. People saw things differently which was why its always so weird and funny for two or even three people to say that same thing at the exact same time. They usually thought that no one thought the way they did.

"Why would you say that for? I'd doubt that you aren't noticed by everyone. But, even so, how many that you know of besides me actually feels bad for not noticing you?"

Jacob thought that it was a kind thought for her to say something like that. "I don't think that they feel bad about it. Even if they did, I hardly think that its much of a big deal," Jacob shrugged. He shrugged a lot of things off. Mostly because it didn't really matter. If he wasn't really close with them, then why bother trying? Too much time in life was wasted in trying to do something that would take so ... long. "You don't need to feel bad about it; really,"

"It isn't, I have a feeling that you seem uncomfortable with what I said,"

Jacob smiled a little bit but shook his head. "No, its alright. Say what you want, it'll be perfectly fine with me," he said kindly. People were much too caring for his feelings. He was more afraid of bruising his own feelings rather than let other people do it for him. He never really...paid attention.

"You don't need to apologize, and you don't need to leave," she replied to him, "It sometimes gets rather boring when you're alone and painting like I just was. I'd accept your company if you want to still be here with me."

Jacob smiled and nodded. "I'll be happy to stay," he said. He never really met a true painter. And she still had time. By seventh year she would only be better and excell. Something things were just like that. "So...are you done with that painting or are you going to add more onto it later?" Jacob asked, trying to get back onto the subject of her art. Personals were never much of his forte.
