Gryffindor Admin Prefect
Positions
Editor-in-Chief (Owner): This is the big guy on the block. All article ideas and hardcopies must first go through him before they actually hit the streets. S/he determines the salary of everyone, so make sure to get on her good side in the beginning. The owner must have experience in all the fields below to qualify for this position, so I wouldn't expect someone too young to be The Boss.

Editors: These people take the articles written by the Reporters and put them together in some order (front page, middle, back page, etc.) and stylize each edition of the Prophet to be eye-catching. These people work in the building all night long, scurrying about trying to get everything together for the next morning. Editors need to have a good mind for design. Anyone eighteen and older may apply.

Reporters: Reporters are the people who actually go out to locations and hold interviews. They put together the articles that will be submitted to the editors and printed the next day for consumers to read. Reporters need to have a good grasp at writing. Anyone eighteen and older may apply.

Photographers: Photograpers follow around the Reporters and take pictures that relate to the topic at hand. Their income is based off what pictures, and how many, will be used in the paper. Photograpers need to have a good eye for scenes. Anyone eighteen and older may apply.

Remingston Weasley
__[do] I kill for the [light]?
Wizarding Resident
Name: Remingston Weasley
Age: 24
Prophet/Quibbler/Freelance: Daily Prophet
Position: Editor/Reporter
Qualifications: In age:
-21, monthly reporter; low job, but watched constantly.
-22, weekly reporter; more of a promotion, though still in the "lesser" position.
-23, regular reporter; finally becomes the reporter he was born to be, and works hard in everything he reports.

Remingston has a very wide range of qualifications, considering he's been working for the Prophet for the past four years. In this year, he hopes to become an Editor, though has insisted he still hold the position of Reporter, allowing him to both regulate and "put out" articles as well as write them himself. During his first years, Remingston worked as hard as he could, putting rare pieces out on the line, especially in his 23rd year, or his third year working at the Prophet. He's got a good mind, clever thoughts, and is ultimately skilled at getting things out of others as to help and expand his general stories. His opinions are viewed highly by the people of the Wizarding World, though they barely know who is writing the article that continues to reach the top page. Remingston's boss has hinted towards a promotion when he turned 24 years old, promising him a job as Editor, a job Remingston has always dreamed of, and the young man feels it is very close in his range.

"Scrimgeour's Investigation Hits Rock Bottom; New Hope for a Fresh Minister"

Thursday, October 3rd, 2018.
Remingston Weasley-

"As of today, Thurday, the 3rd of October, nothing new has been found in the investigation of Rufus Scrimgeour, who, as you all know, was killed almost two weeks and three days ago to this day. Indeed, the Ministry has had difficulty in the past two weeks to "dig up" any new information on how and why the Minister was killed. The Aurors of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement have been working hard over the past seventeen days, but have yet to find any new clues. What happened that night, September 17th, a day that seems so far away, and yet, so near to us? All that is known is that the honorable and highly respected Minister was "wanded" down with the Killing Curse; he was found dead the next morning, lieing next to his wife. A hard mystery to solve, indeed, though some of the Auror's have "re-capped" on the events that occurred following that dreadful day:
  • "We investigated his room, allowing our "Finder's" to use their charms to find anything of use," says Perimus Bintucker, an Auror who conducted the investigation that morning. "Nothing was found, of course, but that was to be expected, considering the Killing Curse, which is highly forbidden, leaves no traces behind. Our "Footer's" also used their spells, but it seems that whoever murdered Scrimgeour had the smarts to "cover their tracks". It was difficult for us to return to our offices that day, because we all had that grim feeling that we'd never be able to find the killer. Some of us haven't given up though. All that is known is that this definitely wasn't an act by the Death Eater's, nor the Death Eater Sympathizers, since they'd be the immediate one's to do such a thing, considering they are the only one's around these days, so rest assured, this was just another crime in the regular Wizarding World. A terrible one, at that."
Indeed, a terrible, terrible one, and a crime that will never be forgotten. The letter sent to the Prophet just hours after the death of our late Minister holds no real truth to the situation. The Ministry believes it is just a simple threat, passed off by "young ones" who think this is all a joke. It is, of course, not a joke, and I hope that the Wizarding World sees this as a tragedy, a terrible tragedy. But a tragedy that can be expected. Bintucker's words should comfort those reading this article, for they comforted me. I rightfully believe this was not a work of those who followed You-Know-Who, Death Eater Sympathizers and the like, and all should not worry of such things. Nonsense to the ears, is what should be said about that. What one should know is that this murder was, indeed, a horrific tragedy, and we should all remember our Minister from day to day, even if he is soon to be replaced.

Yes, you heard right, the late Minister of magic was recently replaced by his Senior Undersecretary, a fine woman by the name of Leila Bennet, who has done an outstanding job of holding the Ministry together during this chaotic time. But now, the Ministry has begun the process of deciding the new Minister of Magic, which means that the candidate and nomination race has begun. Indeed, there are many young and old, wizards and witches who truly wish to be the new Minister; who truly want to take up the difficult and demanding position when it is most needed, and their determination to do as such has led them to both nominate themselves and receive gracious nominations all together. Their promoting and "advertising" has already begun. So far, those nominated are as follows:
  • 1. Paris Dartmouth Barron (Portkey Advisor in the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Transportation).
    2. Oliver Christopher Lowsley (Auror in the Ministry of Magic's Department of Magical Law Enforcement).
    3. Leila Bennet (Senior Undersecretary in the Ministry of Magic; second to the late Minister).
    4. Benecia Isabella Jonesy (Worker in the Ministry of Magic's International Magical Office of Law)
    5. Hermione Jane Granger (Daily Prophet Reporter).
Which one will win? Who is most qualified? Who will do the best at such a demanding job? These are questions we all should be asking ourselves, for soon the time will come when we must choose the new Minister of Magic. I hope we all choose well, though the choices are all "well" themselves. Good luck to all of those running, and good luck to the people of the Wizarding World."

Wizarding Resident
Name: Brandon Kohlah
Age: Eighteen
Prophet/Quibbler/Freelance: Prophet
Position: Reporter
Qualifications: Honestly, journalism isn’t exactly Brandon’s cup of tea, and wasn’t really his first choice, but it was the only job he could get at the time. He has no past experiences besides the work he’s had in his short time with the Daily Prophet, but he is a talented writer, with skills that will become more refined with experience. It was his biting, relentless tone that first caught the Prophet’s attention. He had the voice of a journalist in his writing, a strong opinion, and the balls to say what was on his mind with no apprehension.

I’m too lazy to make a new article even though this is not Brandon's style :P but I will write articles, I swear. You know I’m good like that.

I hate the world
Wizarding Resident
Name: Gavin Davenport Landry
Age: 23
Prophet/Quibbler/Freelance: Prophet
Position: Editor in Chief
Qualifications: Gavin spent a lot of his time in Hogwarts interested in photography and writing. Despite his lazy attitude and distaste for school work, he often spent his time in school rewriting stories he found flaws in at the Prophet, Quibbler, and his text books. He developed his writing skills greatly before leaving Hogwarts and applied for a job as a reporter shortly after graduation with a brilliant portfolio of stories and pictures to accompany them. Gavin was found to be too picky with the photography for his stories and often put his own work in instead of the photographer's that he was required to work with. Soon the paper realized he was best doing his own thing and despite his attitude, the 18 year old photographer/reporter, was one of the best on the staff. At age 20, an editing position opened and Gavin eagerly applied. After some serious consideration, the Prophet took Gavin on as their newest editor. Two years in the positon and Gavin was finally happy in his job. He may have hated everything about his life, but he liked his job. Nine months ago, the editor in chief at The Daily Prophet died suddenly. In a surprise act, hard working but forever picky, Gavin Landry was put in charge of the paper. He felt he was far from ready but he knew he had the attitude his former boss had had about the paper. Perfection and a strong desire to gather as many readers as possible. Controling the media and everyone who worked for the most popular paper in the Wizarding World was more than he'd ever hoped. He knew everyone thought he was too young, but Gavin didn't care. He was built for this job.

Meh, if he's too young, let me know. I just figured I'd submit my idea. Thanks for reading at least. :)

He's probably a bit young to be editor-in-chief, but he can have any other position.

That's cool. Is it possible for him to be a novelist? I was thinking he could have written a few fictional stories that are doing nicely in the Wizarding World...
