If you can read this, the song is A Little Peace of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold. A WARNING, the video is very graphic.

Johnny Depp, most famously known as the rum-chugging, wench-oogling, savvy-speaking, Pirate Captain Jack Sparrow is now acting in a much more.... weird role. It's known that Depp enjoys working in Tim Burton films, as seen in his Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and The Corpse Bride, and now is the star in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway hit: Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. From Drunk pirate to Singing, dancing Barber... Depp sure has his work cut out for him. As most movies this holiday season, there are high hopes for this one. All i can hope is that it won't be an utter dissapointment ((I'm looking at you, Golden Compass)), and bring some laughs. Did I mention that after Mr. Todd Kills his victims, the wife bakes them into pies? A hannibal lecter tribute, I assume. But, what is the one reason I wish to debate about this movie? Johnny Deep and Alan Rickman in a Tim Burton Musical?! I can almost hear the fangirls screaming in joy. |

"Did you come in for a pie sir?" Helena Bonham Carter sings plesantly, hammering various bugs as she crafts what she also hamonises as "The worst pies in London.." Is this the first? No. Is it the best? No. The best Tim Burton movie? I'm going to have to think on that. Was it a fangirls dream? Oh dear god yes! Every time Alan Rickman appeared on screen a little squeal was heard from the back of the theater. Well, two being that I was with a friend. But, besides that, everything followed the original very well. The blood was rather fake, and this was a bother at first. But, one soon comes to notice how much this stands out the dreary background Burton has set for us. I won't mention the storyline so much so I won't ruin it for for those who haven't seen it.. but it is incredible. Within a few seconds of the movie I was already frozen in joy. Depp's singing is fantastic, far better then I would have thought. The bad, it might have been good.. but it wasn't something I would buy for any price. It's not best movie material, but has a good chance in score catagory and costume/set design. Do I regret going right away? Of course not, I'm a fangirl. Warning: If not a rabid fangirl, wait. My favorite lines in this movie: "Theres a hole in the world with a great black pit and it's filled of people who are filled with shit and the vermin of the world inhabit it and it's morals aren't worth what a pig could spit and it goes by the name of London. At the top of the hole sit a privliged few making mock of the vermin in the lower zoo, turning beauty into filth. I too have sailed the world and seen it's wonders. All the cuelty of men is as wonderous as peru, but there's no place like London." |
