Taiyou shyly sniffed at the meat Koneko graciously handed to her, then, carefully so she wouldn't accidently nip the feline-like female's hand, she grasped the meat between her teeth and began to chew with satisfaction. After all, meat is meat. Taihen watched his sister eat rather impatiently, a small growl resonating in his throat. He was hungry, and as a boy tiger, he wanted to be fed NOW, dammit! Recognizing the tone, Thorn shot a rather disapproving look at her son. Reaching over, she once again picked the white tiger cub by the scruff of his neck, stroking him to calm him down. "Behave yourself," The female ninja hissed into Taihen's ear before setting him back down. Taihen looked like he was pouting, but he nonetheless returned to the fire and sat there without making any other noise of irritation. Shaking her head slightly, Thorn sat back against a tree near her, closing her eyes and letting her mind sink into her own personal oblivion. That is, she was giving herself over to her priestess abilities. By looking at her, you'd think she was sleeping, but in reality, Thorn was checking the near vicinity for any thing that could prove hostile to her or her cubs. Abruptly, she sensed abnormal presences in the woods, but they were a reasonable way away. 'Still, better safe than sorry...' Thorn told herself, resolving to keep a close watch on the situation at the back of her mind. The 16-year-old opened her eyes with a sigh and stared at the darkened sky above, where stars were just beginning to make their presences known. |

Koneko suppressed a grin as Thorn scolded the young tiger. It was cute, how Thorn acted like their mother. Vaguely, she wondered if Thorn had acquired them over an accident... Koneko grabbed another piece of meat and fed Taihen. He almost nipped her fingers in his eagerness, and this caused Koneko to briefly glare at him with the full force of her strange eyes. He backed away a bit, and Koneko stopped. Koneko glanced at her supply of meat-on-a-stick. She had eaten five earlier, which left five for them. Two had already been devoured... Koneko glanced up so sharply that her neck cracked in protest. This lethal intent in the field of sensors...it was mixed with familiar and unknown. She knew what this was about without having to speak with them. They were after her... "The rest of the meat is for you, Thorn. How you divide it is up to you, but I suggest at least you eat the final piece. It'll save you from having to rip it into even parts and serve as a basis of energy." Koneko chattered cheerfully as she walked around the fire picking up her equipment. She grabbed her now-dry clothes from their branches and made for those who tried to sneak up on her. |

Thorn blinked, snapped out of the remnants of her thoughts. She looked at the leftover meat in surprise, shocked that there was actually enough to feed her and her cubs. Taking up the stick, she tore off two pieces for herself and ripped the last piece in half, feeding each half to her cubs. She watched Koneko's antics as she chewed, wondering what the hurry was. "Going somewhere?" Thorn asked, as Koneko began to leave the campsite. |

Koneko froze mid-step, her body completely rigid. Why WAS she going somewhere? She had no reason to head them off. It wouldn't be her fault if there was a fight and Thorn got caught up in it...Yes, it would. It would be completely her fault. Man, was she turning into a sap. She cared about these 3 that had so randomly appeared. "You've noticed them, haven't you?" Koneko whispered, without moving anything other than her mouth. *[watches siggy] GO ICHI, GO ICHI, GO~* |

*LOL, Neko. XD* "Yes," Thorn responded, getting to her feet and joining Koneko where she stood, looking out into the far distance. "I sensed them a while ago." For some reason, Thorn had an inkling that these presences, whoever they were, were after Koneko herself. The female ninja sighed, closing her eyes and crossing her arms. "You can run, if you want to. I won't give you away. Taiyou, Taihen and I can take care of ourselves." The 16-year-old offered, returning to the fireside to her cubs, who had realized something was amiss and were tense, alert. |

Koneko blinked. She hadn't meant it like that. "I'm not running. I'm going to cut them off so you don't end up hurt because of me. They...they're after me because I've killed people. And you'll end up hurt if you're seen with me..." Koneko murmured, staring at the clear moon through the trees. |

*Ah, my life away from life. And yeah school starts next week!!* Yume thought about it for a moment. She got out of the water, not even close to satified with her job of cleaning. She hated running long distances, not that she wasn't fit for the run. But if they kept walking like this, would they catch their 'prey'? Things were iffy. Yume looked at the moon, deep in thought. She could feel a slight breeze flow threw her silver hair, which glowed in the moons light. "I beileve we should pick up our speed." she said in a soft voice. "If we run, we could give our presence off more. It senses us. The one that smells like murder, but there are three others. Small creatures that smell too innocent to be roaming with such a dissaster." *Not trying to be mean Neko- chan ^_^. Yah a short, post! Wait... I always have short posts... Next ^_^* |

Thorn stared at Koneko's back, surprise flitting for a brief moment through her red irises. She wasn't used to a total stranger taking precautions just so she and her cubs wouldn't be hurt. It was...unusual, for her. Almost alien. Taihen and Taiyou merely stared up at Thorn, waiting for orders they would follow faithfully. "Strange. I don't smell any blood on you. I would have been sick by now if I did," The female ninja conversed casually. She had seen Koneko battling whatever was attacking her earlier. She just didn't know that the adversaries had met such an unfortunate end. "...Tell me. Do you like to kill?" Thorn wondered, her head tilted slightly to the side, though her face remained expressionless. "If you don't, it'd be wise to leave now. You can trust that I won't give you away." The corner of Thorn's mouth pulled up into a wry, half-smile. "As far as they'll know, I have no idea you even exist." *Hmm. Whatcha gonna do, Neko? You either stay and fight, possibly losing control and causing unneccessary bloodshed, or you flee and let Thorn throw them off your trail. (That is, if they're dumb, but it'd still be best if you moved.) Which will it be?* |

"I take no pleasure in killing." Koneko replied coolly, trying to keep the defensive ice from invading her tone. "And Thorn, I have no intention of running away. I will face this head on and chop it up. Not literally, of course. For I find no pleasure in killing. But she does." With those words, Koneko sprinted off down the shore, her long legs taking her parallel to the stream. |

Itagura's ears flicked again, hearing Yume speak and she even glanced for just a moment at her, but did not speak. If they picked up their pace, giving off their presence more wouldn't it cause the target to just make a run for it? Or make it defensive and come to them? Either way, she didn't exactly like that suggestion. Maybe it was just primitive instinct that came with her panther self, feeling more comfortable to be stealthy and ambush the prey without it knowing of that someone was that close. It was how she got the job done for other jobs she accepted.. but she would wait for Kila’s word since she was still with them. But as for the other ones that Yume picked up, she could smell it too. There scent was on the listed Nozomi picked up before they bumped into Yume or Kila. It was that human scent with the foreign tigers.. But it was much more newer then what they found earlier. And with that, she could determine that the cats that human had with them were young, just cubs still. She made a face.. They were three other ones now. She was sure the cubs would pose no threat, not so sure about the human and then the main target. Those others would get in the way.. Would they have to take them down as well she wondered. |

Thorn stared after Koneko's rapidly disappearing figure, a new respect starting to form in her eyes. Taihen and Taiyou looked quickly between Thorn and Koneko, whom was still in their line of vision, questioning with their green irises if they should follow the feline-like female. Thorn shook her head. "I'm pretty sure Koneko's not the type of ...girl that needs help," Thorn explained, sufficing with the word "girl" to describe Koneko. "She'll be fine on her own..." 'But in case she's not...' Thorn thought to herself, following Koneko's rapid presence in her mind. 'I'll be watching...' |

The ferret raised itself up once more and gave a half-hearted sniff, the will to finish this job and keep Kila alive was the only thing keeping Bachi awake. There will be no need to run, my sensors indicate that our mark is making its way toward us...they already know we're here... Kila relayed the information, "Well I suppose that means that we won't need to run then, brace yourselves we're about to encounter the enemy..." At long last.... She added silently, getting a handle on her ever-shifting chemical composition, if the time came that she'd have to fight, her unstable ability could very well be her key to life. Bachi yawned again, "Sleep," Kila murmured, "completely shut down for the next few minutes we still have a few clicks to go." Rasing a hand, Kila cut off Bachi's response and continued. "When you're tired your judgment starts to go and you'll be more of a burden then an asset, just set it for about thirty minutes, that should be plenty of time to fully charge, then you'll be ready to battle." Bachi, already shutting down hooked his claws into Kila's shirt, slightly puncturing her shoulder yet again, Don't do anything rash.... Kila glanced at her digital watch, 10:15pm, they still had plenty of time.... "Lets press on." |

Koneko hoped this would work. She had no desire to come quietly, but if all went well, there would be no reason to. It all depended on the type of person each of her hunters were. If she could get past them without inflicting harm, then that would also prove what she was after. As she hacked at the distance between them, time proceeded with its never-ceasing flow. Via her senses, Koneko analyzed the positions of those who planned on her capture. She would use the holes in their formation to get in, but she'd have to be quick. She didn't know what kind of help that the person in charge of her capture had enlisted. Koneko deeply wished that she could further prove her point by changing the build of her blades, but it was too late for that. *I wonder if anyone can see my plan...<.< >.>* |

Yume listened to Kila talked to her ferrit on her shoulder. She resisted the urge to ask if she could pet it. What could she say, she had a soft spot for cute fuzzy things. She heard the fact that the 'target' was coming to them. She didn't understand why they had to move on. If anything they should stop. Let it come to them. "Shouldn't we make a plan?" Yume asked her silver ears twitching, and her tail swaying behind her. She could sense that the target was more dangerouse then they were told. Intentions unkown filling her senses. She had a bad feeling about things. "If we stop and wait, making a plan of attack would most likely be a smarter idea." she was nervouse, doing her best to hide it. She looked at Itagure and Nozomi for help. Yume looked over the vast of the land. There weren't many places to hide, except in the tall grass. But if this target is as strong as she could feel, then hidding would never work. They will have to take it head on. Making some kind of plan, one where no one will die. |

*Dear me, how the time went by. I hope you guys are still willing to return to this* Once again, from Yume's words Itagura's ears twitched and she glanced at her again. This, she could agree with. She wouldn't mind stopping to make a plan, if the target knew they were coming it would be best to prepare. Her panther ears perked forwards, trying to pick up any sound she could and she even inhaled the scent of the air lightly. The 'prey' may actually be coming straight for them... A sneak attack would not work anymore... Which she would still would have been comfortable doing in the first place. The Primal stopped finally, crossing her arms as her tailed swayed side to side slowly. "A plan would help...” she said coolly. “I'm sure it would be dangerous to keep going without a sort of strategy? Yes?" she asked, directing her voice to Kila. |
