Nozomi's heart dropped when Itagura didn't immediately answer her. Was there really no chance for them? "We just... do what we can," Itagura had said to her. The canine's ears drooped and her eyes lowered. Her stance must've alerted her primal friend because Itagura continued, "Listen, do not hold back, and give it all you have."

Nodding, Nozomi took a deep breath and braced herself. The roaring echoes of whirring came closer. Louder. "No time for an explanation, it's either fight or die," she managed to hear Kila say. This might be it for her. Nozomi put on a determined face and clenched her fists; she wasn't going to go down without holding her own.

There was a sound of rattling and then an alarm from the it. Next thing Nozomi knew, the ground was alight with bullets. The wind swirled overhead from the... WarChoppers, was it? It didn't matter to the canine girl at the moment. She jumped back and onto the ground, defending herself. Dirt was blasted upwards. Not a thing could be seen. Nothing. No one. In this fight, Nozomi thought she might be alone.

"Oh, snap!"

*Let's just see how far this goes before some ppl vanish for a few days*

Koneko saw the dog-girl fall down into swirling dust, as it danced its lethal dance. She let loose a string of vile words frowned upon in most societies. She glanced at the girl and ferret she had jerked into mild cover. She doubted the girl had even come to her senses yet. The ferret, however, lay quivering near the teen's head. It glared up at Koneko.

Moving her gaze to the hovering metal machine, Koneko noted the weaponry. They thought it was clever, with so many of the same type of gun. The problem was, Koneko knew the weapon. Two hundred and fifty shots in two minutes, and then 3 second reload. That was the key. The issue with this was that they knew the set pattern as well as she did. They alternated the weapons so that it was near impossible to get around the steady rain of metal. Five of the annoying beasts per side.

Koneko blinked slowly. There was the opening. One of the five weapons was in reload. And with that, Koneko was gone. Her body streaked into the swirling mass of dust and metallic rain. She found the canine by her scent. She was crouched with her arms in a defensive X-block, her shield against the barrage of bullets.

1...

Lunging forward, Koneko snatched up one of the retriever's arms and continued straight for the other side of the clearing.

2...

Koneko knew they wouldn't make it before those in control of the weapons lined her in their sights, but it wasn't far.

3...

And with that, the machine gun restarted, showering both girls in a metallic rain of death.

*Indeedeth...*

As the barrage of metal befell upon her, Nozomi blocked what she could with her arms. Then she felt herself being swiftly lifted through the metallic rain. Her arm was grabbed and unaware of what was happening, her body flew after it.

Risking a glance, the canine girl was surprised to find the it pulling her through the clearing. Nozomi was confused and befuddled. FIrst she's tyring to kill...her, the next minute she's saving her life. 'Note to self: if I make it out of this alive, thank her!' she thought.

For a second, there seemed to be less bullets barracading them in the clearing. The trees were actually half-way visible. Then she felt the cycat's body tense. And death fell from the sky again. Though in mid-air, Nozomi fought to flex her body in differnt ways to avoid the barrage of the machine guns. A bullet grazed by her left arm. Nozomi couldn't fight the whine that escaped her lips.

Nozomi then hit the ground with a thud. Opening both of her eyes now, she could see they were on the forest's edge. Her chestnut eyes searched for the cycat's. At first she was just speechless. She stared. Then words found her mouth. "... thank-you," Nozomi told her.

*Wooters! Switching POV's is a bit annoying...BUT ON WITH IT!*

Kyne's POV

I frowned in annoyance as my mark vanished swiftly. Too swiftly for a human. But that did not concern me, rather what did was the sudden absence of MY revenge. The barricade of bullets created a beautifully devastating effect on the green and brown landscape below, I almost smiled with pride at the sight. "Phase two." I commanded, my voice once again slicing almost magically though the racket that sounded from the plane. A lengthy rope latter detached itself from my craft as well as from two other WarChoppers, the hellfire continued.

I knew though, they weren't normal targets, they would soon figure out how to get past the bullets. So I would have to play two steps ahead. Three men plus myself slid down the ladders, gloves kept their hands free of the burn. I of course felt nothing, even when a thin string of smoke rose from my burning artificial and real skin. They activated their chameleon camouflage systems and vanished into the smoke below, I followed just as soundless and out of sight as a fly caught in the hellfire.

My target is close...I can sense her...

Normal POV

Kila suddenly snapped back to reality when Bachi dug his claws into her arm. Hellfire rained before them. "How...?" She began, dazed.

Our new servant managed to save your skin as well as the canines'.

Kila simply nodded, "Did I really...see...was it him Bachi?"

Bachi's beady black eyes narrowed, Yes. Krow is here. You must change. NOW. I can not detect him because of his system, but I know him, he's trying to move two steps ahead of us.

"But..."

NOW

Kila closed her misty eyes and her features began to twist in a grotesque way, her skin pulled forward and bones cracked noisily in response to the unnatural process. After maybe thirty seconds of transition a bristling cream and dark brown mountain lion stood where Kila had once cowered. Its eyes were a vague silver as though it was blind and its pelt was sleek, though punctured with abstract bits of silver.

It had two lengthy tails that tore up the ground and air about it. The mountain lion threw back its head and roared.

*Enter Kila's shape shifting ability! Krow is prowling about, I wonder where he is...? <.< >.>*

*it's finally heading somewhere~*

Koneko blinked at the words of kindness. It caught her off guard. She doubted anyone had offered her such benign words in years.

"You're very welcome. Although I would have done it by my instincts anyway..." Koneko murmured, her voice almost inaudible in from the steady roar of the bullets.

Abruptly, Koneko raised her head. Her senses were on fire. Someone was coming. Someone with foul intentions on the lives of everyone here on the ground. Foul words hissed from her mouth as she rapidly furled out her sensory perceptions. Three men in camo. Expensive, sophisticated camo, but camouflage all the same. She wasn't sure why, but she felt another presence. Her sensory perceptions picked up nothing. And she couldn't detect how many with her vision or hearing, since they had become useless in this fight. Koneko's sense of smell was only good for detection, not number. So that was useless as well. She dismissed it as false.

Another thing flamed her senses. The girl. That teen girl wasn't there. Her sensory said she was, but her scent was no longer there.

"Something is wrong with the ferret girl."

[It's getting way to good just to leave!]

Itagura braced herself when the rain of bullets riddled the earth, picking up dirt and smoke from the battered ground. In the cloud of dust she glanced around as noticed she had lost sight of Nozomi, but tried hard to think the worse had happened to her, she was prepared to call to her but her train of thought was disrupted when a bullet nicked her on her side. She grasped it quickly as the cut bleed onto her gloved hand. Standing here would do no good.

She bounded out the dust cloud and ran out, being trailed by the gunfire, kicking up more dust clouds behind her as she continued to run for some sort of trouble, at one point it appeared she had disappeared under the storm when it seemed the bullet trail had caught up to her and hid her form in the dust.

However, she was more careful then that. She ducked behind a small group of trees, and peeked around the corner, her ears pulled back. She grimaced at the predicament and then turned the other direction, crouching and crawling to move behind the tree a few steps on her side.

She breathed heavily, touching her side again and looked at her blood stained side. "Damnit.." She muttered to herself as he heard the riddle of bullets elsewhere. She couldn't stay here very long; eventually she would have to run back out there. But not with those ghastly machines.. Her skills would only do so much as keep her alive a little while longer, but not to inflict any damage if she couldn't get close enough. Her abilities wouldn't do any good either... her primitive methods would do little against this sort of advancement.

She needed a plan, an opening...

*Good grief, I only left for a day ppl!*

Kage chuckled as the gunfire peppered the ground around him. 'Bullets? I'm disappointed.' He raised his hand out in front of him and called out in a bored tone, "Scudo!". An almost fully transparent bubble wrapped itself around him, sending bullets flying harmlessly away as they pelted it. He sighed and watched the cycat and canine girls run through the bullet fog and deeper into the forest. He raised his staff afew feet in front of him and cried out, "Anblick!" Around him, time began to freeze. Bullets only seemed to be floating slowly down, until they finally stopped altogether. He looked around within the still chaos. He saw the panther girl behind a few trees close by, and the ferret girl half morphed into some large creature. 'Cool, a shapeshifter. Haven't seen one in half-morph for many years.'

He walked calmly to the warchoppers and lept up onto the blade of the nearest. He scanned the surrounding area and saw a ground unit not too far behind the cycat and canine girls. 'Well, I might as well have some fun while the spell lasts.'

He jumped down from the propellers blade and moved swiftly towards the enemy. He pulled out a small elongated dagger from within his robes, charged t one of them, and struck him through the chest. He quickly turned and stabbed the next one at the top of the head. He then put his blade away and picked up hs book. He swung it hard at the last one, sending him flying into a nearby tree once time resumed.

Satisfied with his work, Kage slowl allowed his spell to wear off. He watched as the world around him began moving. The bullets started whizzing by, the ferret girl finished morphing, and the guards sak to the ground instantly. Kage set his book back into his pocket and froze. He sensed another persence. As he looked, the target still remained completely undetected. 'Oh, stupid me! First rule: never restart time unless you've checked the area first! Well, that's just crap, now I'm stuck here for the next 30 seconds and I'm a sitting duck. Even worse, my bubble i gonna pop in the next ten. man, I'm really losing it lately.'

"The ferret girl?" Nozomi repeated, tilting her head in confusion. Then it hit her. "Oh! Kila!" she exclaimed, jumping to her feet. Her eyes scanned the raging firepower before her. Metal screamed down from the WarChoppers.

Kila and her ferret were nowhere to be seen (not that she could see anything through the mist of bullets). But she couldn't trace her scent either. The winged dude was still nearby, she smelled. And Itagura was somewhere out there. Injured. Nozomi could definitely smell her blood. Her chestnut eyes fell to her arm. It was grazed, but not too badly. She could still use it.

A growl of pain echoed behind her and the cycat. Nozomi whipped around to see fallen men, not too far away. She tried not to think of what could've possibly killed them, but hoped it wasn't after her. However, her chances were against her in this scenario.

"What do we do now?" she asked the cycat. Another scent trapped her senses. It was no one she had come into contact with. Was it... human? Maybe. With everything going on she couldn't tell right from left or animal from human. But one thing was distinct: it smelled bad. Nozomi couldn't describe it, but whoever it was smelled mean, dark even. Her ears folded in response.

*Geez I left at a bad time.. I shoulda stayed for the fun. Oh well, I had to have surgery and I just got back home, so I guess it's best my charicter left when she did. I guess I'll say something, even though I don't have much... Keep having fun!! And have a great Thanksgiving*

Yume laid where she had made camp. The winds above her started whirling around rapidly. Then she saw it, hellicopters flying over. She didn't get it. She didn't dare stand up either, she was too afraid. After all she had just left something more serious then she could handle, something far above her.

She followed slowly in the high grasses, watching, and keeping everything in her senses. She couldn't risk anything. Suddenly she was watching as the copters open fired on everyone she had just left.

She watched as everyone ducked trying to find eachother, trying to protect themselves. She watched in horor. She didn't know what to do, and she couldn't hear anything but gun shots. She watched trying to find some way to help, some way to fight these people and things off. Then she sniffed the air. She had to get a better sense of what was going on. Itagure and Nozomi's smell hit her nose first, then dirt and the smell of the bulets and gunpowder filled her senses.

'People are already getting injured' Yume growled. She hated it, she hated when people would fire on innocent bistanderds. A flash back of her past flipped through her mind. She grabbed her head as it pounded. Everything seemed to be drowned out as a voice screamed in her mind.

"Let it out Yume! Let it all out! Kill those who DESERVE TO DIE!!"

Finally she did as the voice said. Her full demon and vampire sides came out, her claws growing and her eyes glowing a deep crimson red. Her vampire teeth grow a little more, and her speed increased rapidly. Soon she was going into the danger zone, going straight for the choppers. 'I will kill those who deserve to die' she thought as her rampage began.

Itagura hissed lowly to herself still trying to find herself an opening, she touched her side again, it was a light cut but it still stung. She would have to get over that, what else those guns could do would be far worse. She peeked over the side of the tree she remained hidden behind, watching the copters overhead and then looking down to spot the others in the dust clouds.

She noticed then, that Kila's scent was no where to be found... She grimaced at the thought.. Had she left them now too!? She growled, if she ever made it out of this alive she would make it her mission to hunt her down. She wrinkled her nose as she bore a bit of her teeth at the thought that Kila may have abandoned them and left them to her trap.

However, she noticed something else as she searched the battle field.. She picked up a feeling that she knew quite well. The sense of new power emerging from a change to the body. Shape shifting, her ears perked and her senses tingled a bit as she looked around from where it was coming but ducked and covered herself as bullet shots tore at the bark of the trees around her, sharp splinters braking off the tree.

"Damn it!" she cried in her frustration and peeked around the corner again, her emeralds holding an intense glare. She turned her view suddenly, picking up something different again... Something not so good but she couldn't see it.

This wasn't the best of days when senses were failing...

In her attempt to try and find this invisible force she spotted a familiar figure rushing to the scene, she narrowed her eyes to see past the dust and was taken back when she was able to make out the silhouette.

"Yume...?"
