"The POLICE?!"

Sipping some of her soda, Rurumi merely nodded. It was her and Shinji's lunch break, and the two went into the woods nearby their apartment. They always came here when Rurumi wanted to talk about something that should not, COULD not be overheard by anyone else.

"And what did you do?" Shinji asked, taking a bite out of the sandwich he and Rurumi had made from groceries they bought at the store they worked in. Rurumi shrugged and gave her best friend an impossible look.

"What COULD I do? I ran." She said simply. She began to run over last night's events in her head, a yellow shade taking over her irises. 'But still...what was all that about last night? Why were there dead bodies everywhere? Come to think of it, I saw a carriage not to far from there as well. What could it all mean?'

Rurumi snapped out of her thoughts as she looked over at Shinji, who had a relaxed look on his face as he looked up at the sky, his hazel eyes watching the clouds. The dark-skinned teen's eyes changed to a mischeivous shade of light green, as she elbowed her friend in the ribs.

"Hey, how'd that date go with Kana last night? You didn't come back to the apartment." She asked, her eyebrows silightly raised. Shinji immediately blushed.

"Nothing happened." He sighed, a pitiful expression on his face. "Turns out she was just using me to get back at her womanizing boyfriend. She dumped me before it was even 9 o' clock." Rurumi's eyebrows disappeared into her hairline.

"Oh? Then what did you do for the rest of the night?" She wanted to know. Shinji remained silent, staring at his suddenly very interesting shoes. There was something lurking behind those hazel eyes of his, which looked suspiciously like...guilt? A wave of indigo washed over Rurumi's eyes as she stared at her best friend in concern.

"Shinji, what's wrong?" She asked softly, sensing something was up. Shinji turned his head away from her.

"Nothing, nothing at all..." He mumbled to the tree next to him. Rurumi's eyes flashed orange in annoyance as she scooted closer to Shinji and put her hands on each side of his face, making him turn his head towards her.

"Look me in the eyes and say that." The 16-year-old challeneged, brown orbs searching hazel ones for some kind of answer. Shinji brought up his pale hands and placed them over Rurumi's dark-skinned ones, pulling her hands away from his face and into his own.

"I don't wanna talk about it right now, okay Rumi-chan?" The 17-year-old said wearily, hoping she would drop the matter, but knowing she would pry until she got a satisfactory answer. Rurumi was about to do just that when something over Shinji's shoulder caught her eye.

Her irises turned white with suprise as she watched a fire ball in the shape of a dragon cirlcle around a tree not to far from where she and Shinji were sitting, and then disappear. She stood up abruptly and, her curiosity getting the better of her, ran to where the smoke from the dragon was disappating, darting trees as she went.

"Rumi-chan? Rumi-chan! Rurumi, where are you going?!" Shinji called after her, chasing his 16-year-old friend. It didn't take long for him to catch up with her, for she had stopped when she reached a VERY big tree that was not too far from where they were. A young boy was there, tall for his age, but he looked not a year over 13. He was just standing there, and he appeared to be lost in thought.

Rurumi's eyes widened and turned white once more out of shock. 'That's the guy I saw riding that hoverboard last night!' She recalled. Cautiously, she approached the mysterious teen, who was holding something suspiciously like a staff, a magical weapon that Rurumi had heard about.

"Excuse me." She called out, not getting too close to the boy as Shinji stayed where he was, watching the boy in case he tried anything funny. "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

*Alright, it's my turn again.*

Kage looked around and saw the girl that called out to him. She was a bit far away from him, probably scared of his cause his staff was out. He quickly put his staff away and walked over to the girl. He stopped 3 trees away from her just in case she wanted too harm him. "Wait a moment, thats the girl that I saw being poked by a stick. I wonder what she wants." Kage thought to himself. He jumped up onto a low branch and sat there. "May I help you with something miss?"

"Rumi-chan, what are you doing?" Shinji hissed, but the 16-year-old just shushed him.

"I saw you riding a sort-of hoverboard thingie last night." Rurumi began, looking up at the strange guy on the branch of the tree. "Tell me, would you have anything to do with a...a murder around these parts?" She queried cautiously, knowing fully well that this could be the person who brought death to those guards she found last night.

*Unusually short piece by me. LOL. As for the OTHER two girls that are supposed to be posting here, what the heck are you waiting for?? >_>;*

*My turn again*

Kage stared at the girl before answering her. He was wondering she was talking about and why she accused him. "No, I haven't killed anyone. It's a shame I didn't see who did thought." He answered her calmly." My name is Kage, and I kind of live in this forest. Who are you?"

*sheesh! I'm gone for a few days and I'm like pages behind! >.<*

Kaze was wandering the rooftops, her lower lip stuck out in a slight pout. She had just lost two sources of entertainment in a total of about 45 seconds, she flicked her tail in boredom and wondered what to do next. As she was walking a loud and sudden noise sounded from inside her. The girl jumped instantly, "NYAH! What's going on!?" The noise sounded again and she felt air bubbles bursting within her stomach, she poked the empty belly. "Someone's hungry..." she sang to herself.

Seeing as how the teenage girl had no money or any other source of food, she often stole her meals. She was normally in and out of the shop so fast that the shopkeep barely had time to realize that he had just been robbed. Kaze scanned the area with slitted pupils, the sun lowering itself in the east, the closest shop was a grocery store about a block back towards where the girl had run away to. The Tora-jin bent mighty covered legs and sprang from roof to roof, a growling belly cheering her on the whole way.

As Kaze landed almost noislessly on the walk next to the door of the stoor she devised the best way to get food. She nodded to herself, a determined look on her tan face. Kaze strode into the store and raised a hand high, "HI!!!" With that note of greeting she grinned and dashed down the lanes with surprising speed, a fish here, a chicken there, and some chewy treats, also known as cookies. She waved to the confused looking people of the store, "Thanks for the food!" She gave a happy smile and bounded away.

She jogged across tiled roofs and finally reached the woods beyond, she needed wood to cook the meat after all. She'd gather a few branches and some bark and dash off to her home the clock tower. As she wandered through the growth she saw a sudden flash, it was a red creature, impossible to make out through the leaves. Kaze felt excitement rush through her yet again and took off through the trees, she finally stopped when she heard confused voices ahead and poked her head through a slight break in the trees. What she saw made yet another smile jump to her face.

It was the girl from earlier that liked shiny things and her eyes and didn't really want to see her home. She had a friend with her too, a boy that Kaze had never seen before, he looked hesitant and maybe a bit apprehensive. There was another one too, he was sitting on a low branch a few trees away looking important. Instantly the tiger threw herself into the conversation, "Hi and hi again!" She said while waving merrily, "Are you guys having a party? Why didn't you invite Kaze? Who's he?" Kaze pointed at the hesitant looking boy, "Is he your L-O-V-E-R??? Huh?" Kaze bounced over to Rurumi and looked at her excitedly, "Your eyes changed again! Yay!" With that she sprang over to the important looking guy, "Hi! I'm Kaze! I like the way you're sitting, I sit like that sometimes too! Do you like trees? Do you live in treees? Is it fun living here in the woods? I live in a clock tower, wanna see? It's really cool 'cuz you can feel the breeze and see the sunrise and set!" The oddest thing about Kaze was that she never seemed to run out of breath...

*there, happy?*

"I'm Rurumi. The less you know about me, the better." Rurumi introduced herself, answering the boy called Kage's questions. "This is Shinji." She added, gesturing towards the 17-year-old behind her, who nodded, not trusting this guy one bit.

"I find it strange that you live in the woods, yet you didn't see anything...but nevermind, thanks for chatting with me. And if any official-looking people in blue suits happen to be asking, you NEVER saw me..." The 16-year old said, turning to leave the forest, when a sudden ball of hyperness hurdled through the trees and into the clearing.

'The hell?!' Shinji thought, rushing over to Rurumi to make sure the sudden appearance of a new person wouldn't harm his friend. Albeit, Rurumi's eyes were wide and white with surprise as she started at the tora-jin.

'Oh my God! It's that hyper girl from earlier! Kaze, I think her name was.' Rurumi continued to watch in slight amusement (though only her green eyes showed it) as Kaze rambled on about a supposed "party" she, Shinji and Kage were having.

However, when Kaze asked Rurumi if Shinji was her lover, that question made both her and Shinji's faces flare up intensely, and Rurumi's eyes flashed a hot pink.

' "LOVER?!" ' They both thought in disbelief, refusing to look at each other. Kaze was now ranting to Kage about how great her home was, when Rurumi (ever-so nicely) pulled the hyper teen by her braid and made her sit down.

"One, take a chill pill. A BIG one. Two, there is NO WAY in ANY dimension that Shinj and I would be lovers. And Three, if we agree to visit your home, will you AT LEAST calm down???" Said a worn-out Rurumi, her eyes a mix of pink and orange and silver for exhaustion, embarrassment, and annoyance.

"Friend of yours?" Shinji inquired his 16-year-old friend, after finally regaining his composure. Rurumi gave him a look that said point quite blank: "Do I LOOK like I know who this girl is?!"

"She's too young to be a friend of mine." Rurumi said instead, sighing and running a hand across her hair, that was back in its traditional side-ponytail.

*wow... thats a lot of questions...*

Kage watched as Rurumi pulled Kaze aside and started talking to her. He sat there on his branch and started thinking. "Ok... that is one strange person. I wonder if their friends of something.?" Then he heard Rurumi say something about them not being friends. " I guess that answers my question..." Kage stood up on the branch and dropped down when they alll stopped talking. " Your name is Kaze right?" Kage said aloud. The girl turned to look at him.

" Your the one that steals meat from that building and eats it in the clock tower, right? I'm sorry but I cant come and see if there's any meat or has been any meat that's been cooked. But to answer your many questions: I do like trees, I live the big tree behind us, and I think it's fun to live the trees, you get to see the sunset here along with the stars as they first light up. It's a wonderful sight."

Kage took out his staff and aim it at the ground. "Esyka cbrana!" His eyes turned a dark blue as he watched the water from the earth rise and form a shining sphere of space. "Cruf sa dra cdync!" The sphere shot up into the sky and exploded into bright crystals. The crystals reformed themselves into an image*hint* of the night sky. It showed all the stars twinkling as they Kage put his staff into the ground." This is how the stars should really be seen at night" Kage said turning to look at them, " Since I can't go to your house, I thought I'd take you to mine. this is a place where nature has never tasted the destruction that people bring. This is my personal space. Nothing will happen that you dont want to happen here. Welcome to my world."

Rurumi stared up at the glittering night sky, her eyes shifting to a mix of white and yellow for awe and wonder.

Wow...it's so beautiful, so mystical, so...PURE...

Rurumi's sapphire eyes suddenly welled up in crystal tears. She would forever have to live with the constant reminder that she could never be as pure as Kage's home, she would forever be tainted; be considered the evil spawn of her monster of a father...

"Rumi-chan?" A warm hand gripped Rurumi's shoulder. She started and turned to Shinji, who was watching her the whole time. "Are you okay?" The silver-haired teen inquired, a worried tone in his voice.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry." Rurumi reassured her best friend with a brave attempt at a smile. Shinji, however, was not fooled and, without a moment's hesitation, embraced her into a caring hug.

Rurumi didn't bother to push away. She forgot that Kage and Kaze were there (and were probably watching) for the moment, and allowed Shinji to hold her. Rurumi needed to be held, because if Shinji wouldn't hold her like the way he was now, no one would.

What seemed like forever and a day but was really about 20 minutes, Shinji and Rurumi pulled away. She smiled gratefully up at him, then turned to Kaze.

"Well, Shinji and I have about a half hour left before we go back to work. Can we see your home now?"

*There. I typed, realizing that no one else would if I didn't. Nexters!*

*yes! someone has posted!*

Kage looked around at the other's faces. They each had a look of awe on them. He looked over to Rurumi and saw that tears were starting to form in her eyes. 'What's wrong with her? I hope I didn't cause this.' He thought,' I'll just have a look and see.' Kage stared at Rurumi as her "friend" Shinji gave her a hug. Kage's eyes turned a bright white. "Cruf sa ran druikrdc." An image of Rurumi's memories form in Kage's mind. He was her running from the police when she was in the forest earlier. He saw her sleeping in the boxes by the store. He also saw the one thing that could change his life. He saw her father.

He saw her shouting at him(something about why he killed her friends). Then he saw the guy's face. Kage instantly broke the connection from her mind. 'No way... this girl is HIS daughter? But, he's the one that felt earlier. Maybe I just might tag along with them, only to see what happens, and to see if i'm right.' Kage's eyes turned back to their regular blue color. He turned to look at Kaze.

"If you wouldn't mind. I think I'd like too see your house too. I'll just use a spell so I don't smell the meat."

Kaze's heart fluttered excitedly within her chest, she finally had guests! "Yay!" She chimed happily, "This way!" Then she took off in a series of leaps, her thick muscles clenched and relaxed with the strong jumping movement. Then a thought struck Kaze, maybe her new friends couldn't jump as well as she could, skidding to a sudden halt the tora-jin tore back through the woods and to the clearing where everyone was waiting. "Sorry! Maybe we should...er...what was it called again? Oh yeah! Walking! We should walk I guess so that you can keep up with Kaze!" With this Kaze gave a triumphant smile at her thoughtfulness towards her new-found friends.

"Come on then, it's this way, Kaze really hopes her friends like her house!" Once again she set off in the direction of her home, looking as though she were ready to jump out of her skin with excitement, "This is really great!" she continued to rant, "I've never had real friends before!" Then she flashed a jubulant smile at the odd group of her so called "friends". Then she frowned and seemed to go into a complicated process of thought, "You do like Kaze....right?" She fixed them with a thoughtful stare.

*It's about time someone else other than Sakura or myself posted.*

Kage disabled his spell before answering Kaze's question. "I think your... interesting to say the least. Yeah, I guess you are a friend to me." Kage hopped up on to a tree a picked up a small bag. He placed it over his shoulder and jumped back down. "I'm always bring this with me when I go somewhere I've never been before. It's my special travel bag." He took out his staff and smaked the ground with it. His eyes turned a dark brown."Ayndr puyntc."

Four boards popped up form the earth and hovered slightly over the surface. "I think it might go faster if we ride on these. I'll control them so you do't have to worry about falling off."

*Done for now. Next person.*

Rurumi gazed at Kaze, no emotion readable in her (for the moment) dark brown eyes.

"...You've...never had friends before...?" Rurumi aked quietly, a sense of understanding overcoming her thoughts. Maybe it was the peculiar way Kaze looked, or maybe it was her personality, or maybe...

Rurumi's eyes turned blue out of pity rather than sadness. ...Maybe...Just maybe...Kaze was thrust out of society simply because she was born? Like the way Rurumi was...?

The 16-year-old's eyes turned green as she gave the tora-jin a warm smile, one of those rare sincere ones.

"Yes, I'd like to be your friend. We outcasts have to stick together, don't we?" She claimed, ruffling Kaze's hair as if she were three. (Rurumi still thinks Kaze is younger than her, judging from her behavior)

Meanwhile, Shinji was eyeing the hoverboards Kage had just produced, a very mistrustful look in his hazel eyes.

"No thanks, Rurumi and I can, walk, or jump, whichever she prefers-Rumi-chan!" He immediately protested as soon as he saw Rurmi clambering onto the nearest hoverboard. She stuck her tongue out at him, a playful spark in her light green eyes.

"C'mon, Shinji, where's your sense of adventure?" The 16-year-old asked, and then she turned around to face Kaze. "Whenever you're ready, Kaze."

Shinji, who was NOT happy about this at all, sighed heavily and climbed onto the hoverboard, knowing he had no choice in the matter.

*sorry, sorry! >.<*

Once again the spark of life that was Kaze seemed to roar into life and she jumped nimbly onto the hover board that floated before her. She gave a toss of her head, in a vain attempt at putting the messy strands back into order, her whip-like tail flashed back and forth in that happy way of hers. The tora-jin gave a glance around, making sure that everyone was ready this time and she leaned forward, propelling the board in the direction of her home, the clock tower. The rush that Kaze received from the ride was one unlike any other she had felt before, it was almost the same as jumping, but it was far easier on her legs. The wind whipped and slashed at the hybrid and for a moment her mind wandered, a memory perhaps? No, she only had those in her dreams, this was a thought, 'I've friends, I have hope!' She realized as she released a cat-call, a soft one to display happiness.

At last, much to Kaze's disappointment, the ride was over as they halted before the massive clock face; a small rectangle door that was visible only to those who looked, faced the world. Kaze opened the door and stepped inside, the innards of her "home" revealing themselves to others at last. But as the small party followed after Kaze the tiger seemed to stiffen slightly, "Who're you?" She asked her voice still light and careless. Inside there was a figure with a confident posture and brilliant blue eyes, he gave a slight bow to Kaze and her company.

"I'm hurt; you don't recognize your own brother anymore?" He lifted a clean cut face and gave a mocking smile; he looked to be about 16 or 17 with a lean body built clearly for speed. His tanned skin was smooth and flawless; it was covered by a short black jacket, revealing the white shirt underneath, his black jeans ended in a rush of white stripes. The teenager seemed to be an inverted form of a white tiger, his fur a thick black on his ears and sleek tail and his stripes were a pure white color. "But where are my manners, I'm Tsuki, please excuse me but I have something to do." He said, addressing the odd group of people that cluttered at the doorway.

Tsuki turned to his sister and withdrew a blade that had been stealthily concealed against his jeans, for the sheath and his pants were of the same color. Kaze stared at him, her expression never changed, a thin smile that seemed to fight to frown and become upset, maybe even panicked. He chuckled as she called upon her magic and insane winds filled the room, "That's what I loved most about you and your...disability; you can't even cry out for help and be taken seriously." And without warning Kaze's brother charged at her with every thought of death clear on his handsome face, "Death to you demon!" He roared.
