Rurumi made her way silently through the trees, mulling over her thoughts as a soft breeze carressed her form.

'It's been so long since I've had that dream...why did I suddenly have it again tonight?' She wondered to herself. Her confused yellow eyes turned up to stare at the full moon above her head. An image of her fierce father, growing more powerful by the second, roared at her.

'You can run, my daughter, but no matter how far you go, your path will ALWAYS lead you back to ME!'

Rurumi looked away and shuddered. She had indeed had problems with that demonic man ever since she barely managed to escape his clutches. Somehow, either he of his minions always found her. Her eyes turned blue from her sorrow, and she continued to truge through the quiet forest, staring sightlessly at the ground.

'It's like he has a tracker on me or something,' The dark-skinned 16-year-old mused. 'How will I ever be able to find peace...eh??'

Rurumi stopped walking, for her foot had just stepped into a dark liquid of some type... A curious shade of orange over took the color of her irises as she treaded catiously further, as more dark liquid was spread into the area.

'What IS this stuff??' Her mind wanted to know, when a foul odor reached Rurumi's nose. The teen nearly gagged and covered her nose, shielding it from the sickly smell.

'Oh Kami...is this...BLOOD?' Her mind shrieked, as her black eyes stared in horror down at the large puddle of dark liquid. Her eyes darted around to a sliver of moonlight , where a group of bodies were seen.

"Oh...My...God..." Rurumi breathed, staring wide-eyed at the cluster of bodies. "Who could have done this...?"

Suddenly, a swarm of men in blue uniforms gathered around the scene, muttering things about "murder" and "suspects." 'Uh-oh. Time to go.' Rurumi thought, slowly backing away into the shadows of the forest, not daring to even breathe.

Too bad she couldn't have eyes in the back of her head or something freaky like other demons have, because as she was steppinf back, her foot stepped on a twig, and of course, the snap HAD to echo throughout the forest, grabbing the attention of the police.

"WHO'S THERE?!" One of them demanded to know, shining the flashlight in Rurumi's direction, temporarily blinding her. The shine of the flashlight glinted off of the sais Rurumi had attached to her sides.

"IT'S THE KILLER! GET HER!" One of the gun ho cops shouted, running towards Rurumi.

"Damn!" The 16-year-old cursed audibly, turning swifly and running from the police, dodging tree roots and such as she went, the police following not too far behind.

'I gotta lose these guys.' The dark-skinned teen thought. And with that, she started to jump from tree to tree, making it difficult for the cops to keep up with her movements.

"OH SCREW IT! JUST SHOOT HER!" The cheif commanded, and a dozen bullets flew all over the place, each one of them failing miserably to hit their target. Within minutes, they lost sight of the girl completely.

"Dammit! WHY didn't you dolts aim better! Now we lost our only lead!" The chief spat, taking his frustrations out on the poor police crew.

***
Rurumi sat in an alleyway next to an apartment with a small balcony on it, panting like crazy.

'I guess...I have to lay low for a while...' The 16-year-old thought, collapsing onto some boxes nearby and drifting off into a somewhat restless sleep until morning came.

*haha...she got in trouble with the cops*

Hikari awoke to a mass of purring, multi-colored fur.
"Ugh! Geoffe!!!" Hikari groaned, picking up Sekiei as she sat up. Glancing over at her alarm clock, which read 9:39 a.m. Hikari swore angrily.
"CHIKUSO! I'm gonna be laaaaate!" She moaned as she threw back her blankets and grabbed her clothes. She stumbled across the room and went into the bathroom to take a cold shower.
10 minutes later she was hurdling out of the bathroom and rummaging through the fridge for something quick and edible. She snatched a peach yogurt and slammed the fridge shut. Opening a drawer, she groped inside for a plastic spoon while she opened the yogurt with her teeth. Finding one, she wolfed down the yogurt in 20 seconds flat. Grabbing her keycard, she sped out of the room.
The door closed by some unknown force as Hikari lunged down the hall, down the stairs, and out the building's front door.
Sprinting up the street, she ran past a small alley with a girl sleeping in a heap of boxes. 'The heck?' Hikari wondered before brushing the thought aside and turning onto the main road.
She saw her mark. The rather large, single story building that was painted neon green was never hard to see. She was almost there. A quick glance at her watch claimed 9:58. She might make it inside. She ran full out towards the building. She stopped at the cross walk, jogging impatiently in place. The lights were on her side today. It turned green.
Hikari sprinted across the road. Right as a small Honda Civic decided to run the light.

*I guess i should post again. Sorry, I would have posted sooner but my mom's side of the family came up for my cousin's wedding, so i couldnt go on the computer almost all weekend. Anyway on to the story.*

Kage unlocked the door and slowly reached*somehow that word doesnt look like it's spelled right* for the doorknob. He placed his hand on the knob and hesitated before slowly turning the door to open. Just before it opened, he stopped and let go of the knob. "No when the time is right, she will come to me and tell me my assignment." Kage thought while turning away.

He ran out of the building and back into the forest. He jumped up into a tree and climbed up to the top. He found a sturdy branch and slowly went to sleep. He woke up to see that girl on the road. She looked like she was in a hurry. "It looks like she's late for something by the way she running. I wonde if she's looking for me?"

Kage jumped down from his tree and ran towards her. He climbed up a staircase and followed her from the rooftops. He noticed that she stopped in front of an odd colored building.

"i think i've heard of that color. I believe its neon green if i rememer right." Kage whispered to himself. " I think that building is where she's going. I wonder whats so important about it."

Kage watched the girl run across the street. He also spotted something moving fst towards her. " I dont know what that is, but it looks like it gonna hit her! I better do something!"

He jumped into the air and pointed his staff at tthe object."Ayndr lnicran!" He slammed into the ground and embedded his staff into the earth right in between the girl and the fast-moving object. A huge piece of the ground shot up into the sky. Kage took out his spear and jumped to the piece of road. He stuck his spear into it and spun it around to gain speed. Kage then launched it right at the object.

The ball of earth crashed into the object and sent flying backwards 20 feet! The object exploded on contact with the ground. Kage picked up his staff and spear and put them away before disaappearing into the smoke.

"I hope that girl didnt see me, i'm still not sure if she's the one with my asignment." Kage thought while running through the smoke. Kage then stopped and fell to the ground." I guess that spell was too advanced for me. It used up too much energy, i cant move." Kage tried to stand but fell right back down and passed out from using too much energy.

* Ok... i just made this up as i went along. I've decided that Kage has lived soo long in the trees that he forgot about cars and cities and other modern stuff. Tell me if you have any requests as too make him a better character."

*Holy crap!!! I'm cut off the net for a few days and I come back to TWO pages of posts! Man, if I'm not behind then I don't know what is...into the fray I go!*

A young looking girl was watching the town with an excited expression, she'd just seen a LOT of stuff happen. She had been tempted to jump down from the clock tower she was resting in and land in the fray but she decided to watch and see where things were headed. She nearly burst from the small door with excitement when the car came speeding through the red light, it was heading directly AT the girl in the street. Kaze's ears twitched in excitement when an odd man leapt from the trees and saved the pedestrian's (sp???) life with an interesting spell.

"I can't take it anymore!" She shouted to the winds. Eager for some action, Kaze jumped straight out of the small door in the clock tower, her long braid whipping around behind her. She fell a short distance before grabbing the edge of the tower and hoisting herself up with powerful arms. She turned around, the dust from the explosion had cloaked the ground below and she watched as the man escaped. Again she jumped and landed on a lower ledge of the tower, she jumped and fell until her feet met solid ground.

Kaze had managed to land a small ways away from the action, in a rather narrow alleyway where some boxes were stacked quickly. There she saw yet another odd sight, a girl with darker skin then hers was fast asleep on the boxes. 'Hmm...explosion, or poke the girl on the boxes?' Kila wondered to herself. She decided that an oppertunity like this didn't come very often so she grabbed a small broken stick and began to poke the teenage girl eagerly. "Wake up! Kaze's here to play!"

*How's that for playful? A quick and hurried post, Martial Arts soon, mom's home and I'm not supposed to be on the net!!!*

*Er, that was a-um...interesting post. But the next time you come to the site, POST ON THE HIGH SCHOOL RPG!!! We're waiting on you! You should post there too, Neko-chan*

Rurumi stirred, frowning in her sleep. She was in chains, and her father was getting closer and closer, evilly leering at the teen. Suddenly he...started poking her with a stick?

Rurumi's eyes shot open as she sat up abruptly, wondering why the heck she suddenly dreamt that.

'Dear Kami, PLEASE don't let that dream be a premonition...' She prayed silently, when the sharp pain in her side continued. She looked to her left to find a strange girl with tiger ears poking her with a stick, trying to rouse her, though it was clear that she was NOW awake.

'That explains why I dreamt my father poking me with a stick. He'd never do that, he's way too brutal.' Rurumi vaguely thought, for her eyes were turning orange out of annoyance of the poking. She snatched the stick away from the oddball girl that was lighter than her and snapped it in two.

"Quit it." She ordered, her eyes returning to their neutral brown color.

*Mmkay, I guess I should post the mood colors of Rurumi's eyes, they're sort-of like the colors of mood rings, but not quite:

Red-Anger/Rage
Orange-Annoyance
Yellow-Confusion
Green-Happy/Content
Blue-Sadness
Indigo-Concern
Violet-Love
Black-Fear
Brown-Normal/Neutral

And there we go. This should help you all understand Rurumi's emotions better, because sometimes, I may not elaborate on the color...;)*

*...lol...and I'm using the classic anime freeze-character-scene*

Hikari blinked rapidly(sp?) a few times, her mind not registering what had just happened. She looked slowly around the street. Everyone was gaping at the giant piece of earth that had just attacked a car.
Slowly, Hikari looked straight ahead. Her leg was still in the air. She set it down slowly and finished crossing the street like nothing had happened.
She slowly walked into the neon green building. Upon entering, every face turned to stare at her. A baby was crying somewhere...

*meh...I'm gonna game out...finish later*

*ok... my turn next! I would have updated yesturday but i went out with a few friends. So let's get o n with the RPG!*

Kage slowly opened his dark brown (and slightly lifeless) eyes and stood up in the wreckage. He looked around confused and wondering why he was there. Then he remember that girl and the thing that almost hit her. He sat sat back down and started to recover more energy.

"Aw man... I just blew it! I just broke our most sacred law of secrecy(sp?) with that huge spell. It would be a miracle if no one saw me..." He slowly stood up again and limped over to a stack of boxes. He sat down beside them and started to feel light-headed.

"I just realized.. I'm really hungry right now. I hope there's somewhere I can get some food." Kage closed his eyes and concentrated on everything around him. "Ok... there's a huge hole in the ground, people are still in shock, someone is poking someone else with a stick... wait! There's a place that sells food around here. It's that green building that girl was running to. Let's see... there's a bunch of fruit there! Excellent, but they also sell meat. I'll just have to avoid that part."

Kage stood up for the third time and walked over to the place. He walked out of the wreckage and saw people staring at him. "Oh great, there just had to be alot of people here..." He kept on walking to the building and ignored the countless people looking at him. He made it to the store and slowly opened the door.

Kage walked inside and went immeadiatl(sp?) to the fruits. He picked up 3 apples and walked to the cashier. He then looked around and saw everyone was staring at him in here too. He also saw that girl again. She was in an apron. " She must work at this place. That must have been why she was running." Kge thought still looking around.

"Excuse me sir, if you dont mind could i buy these apples?" Kage asked te cashier. "Uhh... sure you can. That will be $2.50 sir." The cashier took the apples and put them in a bag. Kage paid the man and quickly ate the apples right in front of them, core and all. "Thank you very much sir."

Kage walked out of the store and stared at the ground." I guess I should fix this mess I made." Kage took out his staff and raised it high in the air. The people around him scrambled for cover in fear he was about to harm them. Kage took no notice of this and concentrated on the spell. His eyes turned a bright red. "Vena! Saht drec ayndr du ed'c unekehym cdyda!" A blazing fire erupted from the end of his staff and shot at the hole. It quickly covered the hole with a new piece of land that connected perfectly with the old ground.

"I guess that's good enough" Kage thought outloud."My work here is done."

*Ok.. I've decided to copy Sakura's trick with the color of the eyes except that Kage's eyes change depending on which element he uses. Fire=red, Earth=brown, Water=blue, Wind=green, Light=white, and Darkness= Dark purple. i'll add more colors when i think of new elements. Next person!*

Kaze felt a sudden wave of sadness...her stick....her new best friend of five seconds. Kaze bowed her head in a moment of sadness, a few seconds later her excited grin returned, "Hiya I'm Kaze! Who be you?" She asked in a hyper manner. "Do you like to sleep on boxes? Is that why you're here? I live in the clock tower, wanna come see? Can you jump high? I like your eyes, they change colors! I also like shiny things, do you like shiny things?" The girl rambeled on.

*crap, more later!*

*Shadow, you damn copy cat! >_>*

Rurumi stared at the strange girl before her, perplexed, as her eyes turned to a yellow shade.

"Um...First of all," She began, trying to answer all of Kaze's questions. "My name's Rurumi. You have to say the whole name, because only a few choice people can call me "Rumi."

"Second, no, I don't like sleeping on boxes, and that's not why I'm here. I just...didn't feel like going home..." She lied.

"Third, I don't have time to see your home right now, I have to get to work. Though they'll probably fire me for coming in late..." Rurumi mused, frowning as her eyes went from brown to orange.

"I can jump pretty high...I guess it all depends on your definition of 'high.' And yes, I like my eyes too. But they're MINE." She emphasised, just in case the weird girl called Kaze decided she wanted to poke them out and claim them.

"Shiny things are okay, I guess. But enough chit chat, I have to go." And with that, Rurumi got up and sped towards the grocery store she worked at, that was conveniently located down the street from where she was.

She sprinted in when her boss wasn't looking, and rushed over to her best friend, Shinji.

"Where WERE you?!" The silver-haired 17-year-old demanded to know, as if he were Rurumi's mother. "Boss kept complaining how you were late! You owe me BIG TIME for covering for you, Rumi!"

Rurumi did not snap at Shinji, for he was one of the very few people she allowed to call her Rurumi. She had a great amount of respect and trust for Shinji, and it took AGES to earn that. She just sat there, leaning over and panting exhaustedly. Shinji looked her up and down.

"You're not even dressed in your uniform!" He added, frowning deeply. Rurumi's eyes shot open as she looked down at herself. Indeed she wasn't; she was still in her night-prowling clothes, with weapons as well. She looked up at Shinji, who was tapping his foot, waiting expectantly to hear an explanation.

"I'm sorry, Shinji. I couldn't sleep last night, so I went out for a walk and I got into some trouble...well...BIG trouble..." Shinji's hard hazel eyes suddenly softened.

"Oh my God, did your FATHER find you again??" He asked, lowering his voice to a whisper. Shinji was the only one who knew of Rurumi's predicament, and moved around with her constantly when she was found. She didn't want to drag him into it, but he insisted that he only wanted to protect her. Rurumi shook her head.

"No, it's worse. But I'll tell you about that later. Right now, I REALLY need to run home and get my uniform on! Can you cover for me just a LITTLE while longer? PLEASE?" Rurumi pleaded, her hands clasped together as she stared beggingly into Shinji's eyes. He stared back. Rurumi's eyes were a mixture of black and blue...she was distressed. He sighed and pushed his long silver hair out of his face.

"Hurry up. And you STILL owe me big time!" He said. Rurumi's fave split into a grin as she hugged Shinji and kissed him. On the lips. Shinji blushed madly and touched his lips after Rurumi released him.

"Thank you so much, Shinji! I'll be right back!" She called over her shoulder as she started to dash out of the store.

"Hey!" Shinji called after her. Rurumi stopped and turned to him, her eyes still a joyous shade of green.

"Your hair's down." Shinji commented, noticing that it wasn't in the usual ponytail slung over her left shoulder. Rurumi's eyes flashed yellow.

"Huh?" She answered stupidly, tugging at her hair and examining it. It was indeed loose from her rubber band.

"Oh, so it is..." 'That must have happened somewhere from last night to this morning...' Rurumi thought, frowning, and her eyes turned orange.

"It looks good." Shinji complimented, snapping Rurumi out of her thoughts. "Really good." He added. "You should wear it down more often." Rurumi smiled softly.

"My mother used to tell me that all the time..." Although her face remained emotionless, a wave of blue washed over Rurumi's irises, and Shinji stared at her in concern.

Rurumi flashed him a "Don't Worry" smile and proceeded with spriting back to her apartment.

"I'll be back!" She shouted back.

Sighing, Shinji had nothing better to do until she returned then to get back work.

*Yup, another character of mine. Seems nice, doesn't he? (Smirks mysteriously) Next!*

*Yep, I copied how your eyes change color with your mood, but Kage's eyes change according to the element he just used. Anyway on with my part!*

Kage put his staff back and started walking away from the town. He walked all the way to the exit and turned around. He saw that everyone was still looking at him. He looked back at each of them and they instantly ran away after seeing the red color in his eyes. Kage walked out of the town and into the forest.

Kage walked over to a tree deep in the forest. It was the biggest tree in the forest. He jumped from branch to branch until he reached the top. He sat on the top branch and looked out over the forest." It's so hard to believe there's still so much beauty in the world. Ever since that accident a few years ago, I thought all the beauty in the world was gone."

Kage closed his eyes and thought back to that horrible day 3 years ago. He had just graduated as the youngest mage in the history of the acadamy. All the other classmate were jealous of the fact that he was so good. Before Kage left, one of the older kids shot a firework right at Kage. Instead of just deflecting it away, Kage accidentally upgraded the spell into a powerful fire dragon that shot out a blazing fire right at the school. It nearly blew up everything around it before Kage could control it and send it away. After that, the dean of the acadamy sent Kage away to live in the forest and stay there, alone, where he couldnt harm anyone even by accident.

Kage opened his eyes and stood up on the branch. Kage ook out his staff and held it up towards the sun. " Tnykuh uv dra vmysa, E cissuh oui du vekrd fedr sa!" A huge flame shot out of the staff and formed into the dragon from his memories and flew around the tree twice before disappearing in a small puff of smoke. "It would seem I have come a long way from 3 years ago." Kage jumped down from the top all the way to the bottom. "yen, cmuf so tacahd du dra knuiht." Kage's eyes turned a bright green as he started to slow down and gently touch the ground.

Kage started to walk back to his tree when he felt a ripple in nature."Whoa, that was odd. It seemed like all of nature was destroyed for just a second. this cant be good. Something is about to happen. Something bad."

*ok. im done for now. Next I have to figure what the bad thing is. Or maybe I already know. Next person.*
