It's only 11.37am on a Sunday here but for dinner tonight we are having
homemade Lasagne, salad and chips. I made the Lasagne yesterday morning - so the flavours will have really gotten better!! Then tomorrow my hubby and I will take left over Lasagne to work for lunch - and it'll taste even better *sigh* mmm yummo :P

Yesterday was 'Atlantic Seafood Buffet, Mongolian BBQ and Suhshi" A new buffet that opened up that has more than the usual amounts of seafood dishes than the regular chinese buffet. What was nice was the Mongiolian BBQ, got to create my own plate with enough curry and chili paste to make it intersting. My Mongolian friend (relative by marriage) who went with us said that he has never seen such a thing as was advertised as the BBQ, But he tried it and put too much black pepper in his, he had to drink a bit of water and some ice cream to calm down. Oh, and as far as sushi, all they had was a platter of california rolls, a platter of split shrimp on rice tied with nori, and a platter of imitation crab on rice tied with nori. So I passed on that, I'll save my sushi eatign for "Little Sushi" and their dragon rolls. Hmm, maybe that's what I'll have for lunch!

O.K., small question what's Pavola?

in an email from my mother earlier today:
Quote:

Matthew is making some delicious dessert for dinner tonight even though he is working.  It really looks good and I'll bet it tastes good, too. It's called Pavola, a National dessert of Austraila.  He used hot chocolate mix in the merengue along with red raspberry vinegar, a layer of sticky toffee topped with whipped cream and chopped heath and Cadburry chocolate bars on top.  My arteries are hardening just thinking of it.

Looks like it has merengue, found a recipe on the web, you make a "pie" shell with merengue and fill it with fruit generally?

Yep, it's pretty much a pie shaped merengue filled with whipped cream and fruit usually... Every individual's mum makes the best pavlova over here .

Looks pretty dang good. But I have to admit I like the idea of chocolate in the merengue. Guess I'll have to track down my brother and find out where he got the recipe for it.
