The picture quality is TERRIBLE so bear with me, the camera isnt that great to begin with and they werent to thrilled to have their picture taken

anyway i bought two baby oscars about 2 weeks ago currently i have them in a 20 gallon tank, but i plan on getting a bigger one when i move into my new place soon, theyre only about an inch maybe inch and a half long, its kind of hard to measure them

The store also sold them to me as Albinos i paid $6.99 apeice but ive seen pictures of other oscars online and they look like pictures of Lutinos so im not quite sure and none of the site i have been to really explain the difference

I also need lights for the tank, but ive just come to the conclusion that im getting a MUCH bigger tank in about a month so ill just spend the money there

I have also added a few plants and a rock formation to the tank since the pictures were taken

I feed them floating Chichlid pellets and i have krill that i break into little peices and feed them occassionally as a treat

but basically i love these two wonderful little fishies :fishy: , haha my Boyfriends sister has one that shes had for about 7 years its a little over 13 inches long ( she used to have two but the bigger one murdered its tank mate) and i hope mine live as long or if not much longer, ill add clearer pictures when i can get them, and i'll keep updated on the new tank, i saw an ad for a 60 gallon in the paper that they were selling for 150 bc theyre moving to a smaller place im going to check it out maybe tomorrow and if its in good condition ill store it in my moms basement until i move into my new place :D any one have any other suggestions as to what else i should do?? (in my pictures i stupidly had the water heater upright, but i fixed that)

congrats on your new fish and I will look forward to see a better picture.

Some points about your post,
Pet stores call Lutinos Albinos incorrectly, so you will have lutinos.

You know your tank is too small and that’s good, but you will need a bigger tank than a 60 for two Oscars, you will need a minimum of 75 preferably 90 or above and you don't have long to find it as in good water conditions and proper feeding Oscar can grow 1" a month.

You will also need a lot of filtration as these guys are messy, you want to have your filters going at 10 times the water volume in an hour, if you get external canister filters then about 5 - 6 time per hour.

Hope this is some help, want to get you going in the right direction and save a lot of heartache and money.

Ps: Oscars love to dig up plants :loll:

cool :)

looks like the heater is touching the gravel,,, try and keep it off if possible as it will lengthen its life and work more effeciantly.
