Scientific Name: Pseudotropheus macrophthalmus Common Name: Macrophthalmus Country Of Origin: Africa (Lake Malawi) Size: Males 13+cm females slightly smaller Diet: Omnivorous, will accept all foods. Tank Zone: All Sex: Males are orange/yellow in the face with a blue/grey body. Females are silver. Temperament: Can be fairly aggressive. Breeding: Mouth Brooder Tank Setup: Rocky Malawi biotype Temperature: 23 - 25°C PH: 8 - 9 Hardness: N/A General Information These fish can get quite aggressive but are a quite striking fish Breeding Info Generally the same for all Malawians look after the water quality and they will breed. Very easy to breed fish if fed well and a cool water change is done. Comments A very lovely fish, easy to breed, but quite aggressive. |
