A JDK is a actually a Java™ Development Kit and is free to download from the creators of Java™, Sun® Microsystems. To download a JDK, click here. The main site for Java™ is http://java.sun.com. I reference it quite a lot, so it's a good site to know. As for DOS and CMD, CMD stands for cmd.exe, which is the executable to start a command prompt shell in Windows©. CMD is also the name of the script that is written in DOS. DOS itself is more properly known as MS-DOS, or MicroSoft® Disk Operating System. DOS is the original operating system on most older PCs and was replaced when Windows© came into existence. For more information and/or help, contact this forum's moderator, Shadow. More information on CMD and QBASIC scripting is available upon request. |
