Declaration of Independence; Presenting the Draft to Congress

Contrary to popular belief,John Trumbull's 1817 painting of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence was not the signing at all but in fact merely the presentation of the final Draft to Congress. The original painting is currently on display at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Below, which took a fair amount of time matching the figures with their names, is the famous painting and subsequent ledge of names corresponding with the numbers.
