I'm somewhat of a fanatic regarding Early American History. I only wish to mention this because from time to time, I intend to use this area to Post what you may feel is useless information about how The United States came to be. From its' earliest days of our initial Settlers (Pilgrims 1600s) up to the mid-1800s just after Reconstruction (Civil War) If anyone should have questions, please email me or if anyone wishes to include related information, please do not hesitate. Also, should I Post any information you may feel is incorrect, let me know. The reason I intend to do this is simply our beginnings as a United Country of States, thereby devised to govern themselves under one central primary legislative rule, could not have survived had it not been for the Constitution of the United States. The reason I say this is, our principle struggle was freeing ourselves from British Rule under King George III and to have formed then a Government subjecting its' self-proclaimed American Citizens to regulations & taxes without representation of the People and by the People, would have resembled the very Hierarchy of British control we fought so valiantly against. Our humble beginnings that ultimately led to self reliance was born from Men & Women who's commitment for Freedom was so reassuring, that standing together as one newly formed Nation was stronger and more determined than the most powerful militia in the World at that time. I fear we've never reached that level of honor since. |

Blue Collar, I have to say after reading this, the other Post information you offered and the email you sent me, I am beginning to think you are probably a School Teacher and you're trying to keep it a secret. Well I want you to know I'm going to pay close attention to what you write because sooner or later, you're going to expose your background more & more. I am enjoying the Mini Series on John Adams as well and combined with your enthusiasm for American History, I'm starting to get inspired about the early days in America, which I studied in school but never had professors who seemed passionate about what they were teaching. Since these Classes were requirements for the credits I had to get, I never gave learning more about American History a priority. Well, maybe here you'll become instrumental in changing my mind. Blue, how much do you know about the women in that period? |
