Hello Everybody, I think bigdog is correct. I heard Joe Scarborough talk about this a few weeks ago and he said the former President was setup but the Media successfully turned it around against him in favor of Senator Obama. That's about the time I began to no longer support Senator Obama because I noticed up until the Media started making a bid deal about what the President said, he didn't make any statements about it and then decided to capitalize on it. That's when all the black people began to support Obama and I felt bad for Hillary Clinton, who didn't do anything to deserve that treatment. You are right in saying for us white people, who have no idea how to address black people anymore. I don't even know if writing black people is acceptable but there are only certain words to use like African Americans I suppose. When Senator Obama made his earliest speeches, he repeated over and over how important it was for America to put aside it's divisional ideas as him being a black man. And when he won Iowa, the News Media repeated over and over again how strange it was for Iowa to support a black man especially when Iowa usually votes Republican and since there are so few number of blacks in Iowa, it was amazing that he won. But when President Clinton mentioned the word black, he was pounced on and the media never let up. I have a dear girl friend who is black and she says she has no problem with the word black. She is also voting for Obama because he's black and for no other reason. I asked her what about his policies and she said it didn't matter because none of them have policies that will make any difference anyway so since in her eyes none of the candidates are going to bring about real change in America, she might as well support the black guy. But when I asked her about supporting a woman, she didn't have an answer for that, so I decided to cancel out her vote by supporting Hillary. I hope that made sense to everyone |
