It's official. Now that Kojima's non-compete clause with Konami has expired, Kojima is now free to pursue his own ventures. Japanese publication Nikkei reports that Kojima has started a new studio, with a number of other former Konami employees. All rights to the Metal Gear franchise unfortunately remain with Konami. |

Knowing what Kojima managed to sneak into the last two MGS games while he was still working for Konami, I eagerly await the passive-aggressive "TAKE THAT"s that'll result when he doesn't have to give a shit about them keeping him hired anymore.

Starts up Kojima productions, working on a PS4 exclusive. Kojima productions is now hiring "homo ludens" and has its own store. Looks like some pretty good "take thats" to me. |

New game is not MGS or Silent Hill (since Konami owns the rights, duh), but is coming to PS4 and PC. |

Konami seems to be hiring for a new Metal Gear game. I'm thinking from now on, Kojima's stuff should get its own thread since he's no longer associated with Kocknami. Let the man flourish without being tied down to his withered roots. |

...aaaand that's why BL shouldn't post after midnight. Honestly though, as long as their Pachinko continues to actually make them money, Konami probably feels like they don't have to give a shit about how people who loved their legacy feel about them. And frankly, they probably don't - it is a huge waste of IP property from the standpoint of gamers, but the bad press isn't actually damaging the sources of income they've put most of their recent investments into because they come from mutually exclusive audiences. |

Semi-related but, it seems that MGS V's Fox Engine creator is now working for Bandai-Namco. And just when Konami announced they're hiring for a new MG game. :P |
