I'm not sure why we needed Blizzard of all companies to show us that shooters can work without a forced sepia filter and a generic artstyle when TF2 has literally been the shining standard for nearly a decade. It's almost as though executives never actually play or even watch videogames and are obsessed with chasing trends over building a fun and memorable... oooooooooh. junkrat x roadhog otp |

We're lucky that Blizzard still operates as it pleases despite being owned by Activision. |

It does boggle the mind, really. Both the fact that it took this long for other companies to realize that Valve was on to something, and that Blizzard seriously thinks it can cut the flow of Overwatch porn with these takedowns. I mean, I'm not sure making porn with game assets on another company's movie making software can really be considered 'fair use,' but that's not going to stop people. |

Oh no, it's much worse than that; they're taking down ALL porn related to the franchise. Random pieces of artwork have been taken down from sites like Hentai Foundry citing the company's interference. That's how stupid Blizzard really is. |

It's a fucking miracle. Valve is actually doing something about the mess that is Steam Greenlight, flagging around twenty of Digital Homicide's proposed "games" (of which a vast majority are literally the same game, just with different art) as "incompatible with Greenlight." This doesn't affect the games that are already on sale, but I guess it's a start? |

Are those the only games that got flagged or are they just cleaning it up in general? I hope it's the latter, because Greenlight is a joke at this point. |

As far as we're aware, it's only Digital Homicide. And, honestly, Steam's quality control in general is a fucking joke. |

That's why I asked, I was hoping they were finally getting their shit together. Shame it's only Digital Homicide, which is obviously just because there's been so much coverage of them thanks to Jimbo. |

In a bonus Jimquisition, we learn that, much like with Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Jim absolutely loves Overwatch. However, he will not be considering either game for a Jimquisition award because of the microtransactions buried inside. Naturally, Overwatch fans are fucking furious and go so far as to claim TotalBiscuit "rekt" him when he did a video on Overwatch's microtransactions and respectfully disagreed with Jim's views. Really, both TB and Jim liked the videos the other did on this topic, even if their views are completely different. But, unfortunately, this is the Internet and we ain't having none of that calm debating shit! Me, I'm sorta on the middle. I don't particularly mind the microtransactions if they're cosmetic, but I would much rather a premium game not have freemium bullshit to begin with. But we're talking about EA and Activision here, so that ain't ever gonna happen again. |

Even considering it's a full price game, I feel like Overwatch's microtransactions are some of the least offensive I've ever seen. It's kind of weird to see Jim get so annoyed about them, though I still respect that his GotYs are still ultimately his own choice. |

EDIT: YouTube embed updated with new version of video. This week, it's the 100th episode of The Jimquisition since ol' Jimmy went independant! Celebrations abound! Particularly a highlight reel of his sillier parts. Also, Pokemon GO. That too. Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Jul 19 2016, 02:04 PM.

Video's been removed as of time of posting. By Jim, mind you, not some erronous copyright strike. Wonder what that was about. I didn't actually get to see it. EDIT: It's back up. Here's Jim's reasoning. Edited by Blacklightning, Jul 19 2016, 06:28 AM.

I've updated my post with the new video. As mentioned in the TwtLonger post, Jim outright deleted the original video and uploaded a modified version. The main stuff is still there, but the changes are in relation to the R34 Pokemon pictures he scattered throughout the video, using a picture of Gary Busey's face to cover up the genitals. Unsure if those pictures are all still there, but at least one of them will definitely be gone. Apparently it was a picture of a trainer, which could've caused some uproar as Pokemon Trainers are usually underaged children/teenagers. |

This week: EMULATION Specifcally the question that is "why the fuck should I be expected to pay money for products that can be obtained for free through far more convenient methods, especially when the distributor is being a right dickhead in the process?" The major point is that an old ass game that was in development for the SNES but never actually released is finally getting released... for a AAA price tag of sixty fucking US dollars. Thing is, despite never being released, ROMs of the game eventually found their way onto the Internet anyways. A journalist decided to point this out, while never directly implying that you should go ahead and pirate said game... and then the rest of the industry promptly shat on them. Seriously, though. $60 for a game on a console that most people today won't even fucking own, let alone have one that actually works. Emulation is a touchy subject because at the end of it, it is still, by all technicalities, totally illegal. But when shit like this happens? Fuck off. Also there's some Konami stuff in there. |
