My mom would keep me away from some family members and I learned to stay away from certain people. I would hear about parents and stepparents selling their children as prostitutes all the time. The problem is that most of the time the clients are usually people in power or have prominent positions in the community. It's hard for children to say anything about it and some children are conditioned to think that this is a 'normal' way of living. If a kid does try to seek help they are ostracized by the family that agrees with the parent. Also the child usually does not have another family member that can take care of them. The worse thing about this situation is the parent act as if they never done anything wrong. It's crazy that I know this happens. Sadly there's not a lot a kind and caring people in the world. Well... kind and caring people with money to take care of these children considering this happens a lot in poverty stricken areas of the US.

I'd probably implant tiny GPS trackers in my kids so they don't turn into another Amber Alert.
