I get that, with the advent of smartphones the need for portable mp3 players has become redundant for a full grown adult but, what about the kids? Shouldn't something like the iPod exist as that transitionary period for children before they're old enough to own and be responsible for a phone?

Maybe they realized "exact same device with slightly different hardware and screen" revisions don't really work for people who only want it for music.

I kind of agree, but I think parents are giving their kids phones sooner and sooner now, probably with internet disabled or something. It keeps them busy and that way they can stay in contact with their kids easier. Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	Honestly, I'll agree that this is probably the best move, but goddamn I'm still hella pissed because I like using my iPod for music and the like and I don't want to have to upgrade to a fucking iPhone just to keep using an Apple device for my music. And using my iPod to change music feels extremely more comfortable than pulling out my huge ass Xperia Z2. Guess I'd better hurry up and get the latest model before the things vanish forever.
