Isn't that kind of shit detectable server-side anyway? I really fail to see why on earth they'd have to scan your memory for unsporting addons when they could simply program their servers in a manner somewhat like "huh, he's not supposed to be able to do that. Ban that fucker". |

You know, I'd actually like to know WHY they've been working so hard to go about scanning people's computers and looking for ANYTHING they want. What exact purpose does it serve? Is EA vying for a position as some special task force for the FBI/NSA or something? Really, what business do they have with my tax documents or porn? |

Maybe they want a copy...of the porn that is. Who cares about tax documents? :P It would be a kick if they looked at my HDD and its collection of gay soft porn. ^_^ Edited by Arem, Dec 16 2011, 05:14 AM.

Dead space 1 was pretty cool. You need to save ammo like in Resident Evil, and upgrade weapons/health. 2 is pretty much the same thing, but with online and online passes. I'd at least recommend the 1st one. |

To go back to what I said about not ever touching one of EA's properties again, I was only recently reminded that a new SSX game was in development. Now, if that lives up to what SSX Tricky or SSX 3 brought to the plate, that'll be the only exception. If not, then, bleh, fuck you, EA. |

I don't think EA understands what microtransaction means. For $100 I'd at LEAST want a shiny I'm A Big Douche certificate to hang in my window so people are warned of my stupidity in buying a VIRTUAL car for not far off the price of a REAL one. (IIRC, you can probably get a used car for about £150-200 in the UK, at least, and they're probably just swapping symbols for DLC prices) I'm also fairly convinced that EA are living in a different world, as they don't seem to realise that the US economy is suffering. Seriously, $3 to every £1.99 last I saw. The conversion rate used to be a straight £1 to $2. The last thing I bought from EA was DAOU I think, before I knew about any of this crap. I don't buy games very often any more but I don't think there's any EA titles I'm considering anyway. At least not unless I finish Mass Effect 1 and 2 any time soon, and even then... This is my problem: As much as I don't like EA for what they are doing, the companies that make rather good games under them suffer, and I feel obligated to support the little guy there. It was the same scenario with Activision and Team Bondi with L.A. Noire. That game was a great game, and I bought it new because I knew I would enjoy it and support Team Bondi. It saddens me that they were shut down after that.

LA Noir was published by Rockstar, not Activision. Still yeah, same dealio, but either way, as much as you support them, they'll both, get shafted by their parent company and said parent company will take your cash, becoming stronger in the process. In all honesty, smaller developers would be better off cutting their losses and no longer associating with the big publishers, especially if it hurts them in the long run (plus if everyone boycots the big publisher, it won't affect them). I've noticed smaller companies find more success by working freelance under various publishers, like Platinum Games who have produced games for both, Sega and Konami. |

You should be thankful I haven't posted any of the "time to grab the guns and start chaingunning people in the streets" crap that's been going on with Star Wars: The Old Republic, and that's only because I wasn't sure if it should be an EA thing or a Lucasarts thing. |

Considering the reps of either company, maybe you should just go for both. I wonder if that's the same artbook that comes with the Collector's Edition. |
