I'm honestly still not seeing how this is an exploitable thing personally, except in the case of a gamer getting tired of it less than a day in. And frankly, anyone who makes a game with that kind of replay value expecting retail money deserves none anyway, in my eyes.

24 hours is a suitable demo period for a game. It's similar to how by law you can download any ROMs you like as long as you delete them within that time frame.

Sure hope this line of thinking extends to Steam and other platforms soon, because this all-digital future where sales are final frightens me. Maybe at a steep discount you can afford to take a risk on a new game with zero resale potential, but if you want me to pay $60 for something I want to know I won't be SoL if it's not what I expected. That's one of the reasons I haven't bought a new release online in close to a year.

So the Humble Origin Bundle... seeing as AFAIK EA got no profits from it, who took advantage of this?

I've been wanting The Sims 3 for ages - I do like the Sims games, I just... refuse to pay full price for them. They're overpriced, the expansions are overpriced, and I don't want to give EA that much money when I don't agree with their business practices. So I thought this was a good compromise.

In before everyone cries about Origin being horrible... I did the research, the worst that could happen is I can't play The Sims 2 anymore because, surprise surprise, I didn't buy all the expansions, just the base. And I'd deserve it for being a scumbag who can't just pick them up in the bargain bin. *shrug*

Also wow, Darkspore's dead? I wasn't aware it was ever alive to begin with. I honestly couldn't have given any shits about it given it was an offshoot of a game that EA's marketing team or whatever had already ruined the true vision of before launch...

Now they're saying they're done with offline games and will be incorporating pay to play for all their shit. I'm guessing nobody will be buying anything with the EA log on it in the foreseeable future.

Sorry, but this actually makes sense. Nintendo's resistive, single-touch screens just doesn't stack up to the tablets that people are now so accustomed to using.

That would be a pretty good point if a tablet didn't already cost another several hundred dollars on top of your console, and didn't have to switch controllers constantly to make any decent use of it.

Chief creative officer, Richard Hilleman says that Apple now offers better gaming experiences than Nintendo. Yea. He thinks that Miyamoto is "falling down on the job."

How do these dumbasses manage to breathe?

It's like EA is made up of morons and trolls (who can't even troll correctly).
