Not as single word of this is true. This c-blog is just another "Anita doesn't like how games are now so she's wrong about everything" wankfest mixed in with outright lies to make her seem like she has nothing to say, blatant character assassination. I mean, the blog is dated October 2 of last year, you think there'd be a more reputable source since then? Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. EDIT: Also Keiji, I expected better of you. I think some people that are so hardcore on Girl Power aren't just doing it for their sense of equality but for some other motive, which in my experience is hatred of men, not dislike of equal rights, but hatred of those who bear testes, and since when can't we have on our own opinion on those motives? Otherwise the development of ME2 has been so secret (I forget it's happening when I drink enough) that I wouldn't surprised if she was involved or if she wasn't. But seriously, Faith needs more of an identity over just "GOTTA SAVE SISTER AND RUN" |

It's not about hating men, it's about hating a world where the highest quality of living available still means being the lesser in every single way. I'm not saying that every strain of feminism is amazing, and I'm not saying there aren't any crazy feminists out there. Have you ever heard of the radical feminist movement? I've had my tussles with them, considering their strong anti-trans bent. They believe trans women are either fetishists or rapists come to invade their safe spaces, and trans men to be "traitors to the cause". Some have even tried to tell me that women attracted to men are just being blinded by the patriarchy. You see, that's man hating, that's extremest. But that's it, they're the extreme of the group. The people out there saying that all feminists are like that? That say we already have equality? That believe we need "men's rights"? That use Feminazi unironically, a term Rush Limbaugh of all people coined? Someone as Milquetoast as Anita, who's only said what is blindingly, patently observable, that media has been pretty shitty to women? And especially the games industry, one that believes women can't exist unless they're wank material? To believe that the entire group is insane as the fringe is just intellectually dishonest. |

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Enzan was trying to make all feminists out to be crazies. My initial outburst on the matter is that even if it's something as relatively insignificant as this, I don't want it to get 'watered down' because a bunch of devs feel that female gamers are somehow less capable of men. (Case in point, I've had my ass handed to me by women plenty of times in online games, or gotten outperformed.) The fact that it had a feminist's name associated with the change didn't even matter, it was still a grave insult. |

Yea. Pretty much that on the crazy bit. I like that they're trying to flesh out her character, I don't like that its this person they've allegedly hired, or that it should even be this big a deal. I just don't like it and have a strong opinion on that matter. I think the gaming world on the development side is getting better about women in games, and the fans are just tards about it, but I don't think it should be a thing where "OOOH LOOK AT ME WE'RE BEING SENSITIVE TO WOMEN" happens, it's not special, it should already be happening. |

Pretty much, yeah; if they're going to go out of their way and make it look like they're doing it and force it down people's throats, then it just won't be as natural a transition as it would if the medium matured on its own. |

Now hold up just a minute. ME's controls may have been outwardly simple, but it certaintly doesn't mean they weren't complicated in their own right - playing the game at higher levels usually requires a Street Fighter equivalent of timing and button combinations, especially when it came down to interactions with walls. Have you ever tried doing a double walljump before? It's practically a requirement in one of the time trials, and I swear there's like 6 individual button presses in there for something that could realistically have been done in two, not including the initial jump. I get the argument that it's stupid to suggest women as a gender require dumbing down to play a game with such a purist approach as Mirror's Edge, but claiming that the original game was already simple to control is nothing short of concentrated dumb. |

I agree with you guys, but you're missing the point here. This is a fake article that was made up. And being a fake article that was made up, her quote is a fake quote that was made up. It's patently stupid to say what "she said" and the writer knows this. It was written this way by the author (or to give him the benefit of the doubt, written this way wherever he found it and he was just too dogmatic to see through it) to make Anita look like 1. Not a gamer, someone who doesn't really understand games so why are we listening to her, and 2. A sexist herself, showing her true colors that "women don't play games" because "games are too hard for women". |
