Why would anyone give two shits about EA's attempt at a Tetris knockoff when the real deal costs way less and is available on three different currently existing systems, both as a downloadable title and as a physical one?

...is there seriously not a fucking law against this kind of "lol free game isn't free unless you're fine with your game absolutely sucking to high hell" bullshit? I'm sure that could in some form be construed as financial advantage by deception, but knowing EA they're probably hovering really close to the limit of the law just to grab as much money out of their players as they legally can. I mean, I see no other reason why somone would charge the price of an entire fucking retail game for something that's probably the equivalent of an alt costume in a fighting game.

As for the Tetris thing... I don't know what's worse, the fact that they managed to milk DLC out of fucking Tetris of all things (what exactly are they gonna do? Charge you for skin changes or special platnium-plated blocks?), or the fact that they expect people to pay for DLC to pay for DLC. I really gotta make a Xzibit poster out of that one sometime.

Oh Arem, you still want that Mass Effect 3? You sure about that? Because BioWare seems to think that RPGs are becoming less relevant. Let's not forget how it has an online pass and day one DLC.
Dragon Age II had day one DLC, and that didn't stop me. Sure it was pointless, but I still wanted to play the damn game. In addition, I had it pre-ordered beforehand, but that's beside the point.

And truth be told, aren't RPGs become less relevant? After all, hardcore RPGs died a long time ago. Hell, even Final Fantasy has nearly given up on the genre. Most RPGs I can't be bothered with playing. RPGs are fun and all, but I'm very choosy about the ones I play. I first entered Mass Effect because I wanted to see how a futuristic RPG would hold, but I no longer play Mass Effect because it's an RPG...

...I play it because it's Mass Effect. I'm going to finish what I started in 2008. I always finish what I start.

What would probably threaten me getting my hard copy of the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3 would be that it can never be played offline, a la SWTOR, but there a pretty good reason for that.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

At least do everyone a favor and buy it used. What are you going to miss out on, bullshit multilayer added at the last moment to justify an online pass? Whatever.

Get a Collector's Edition used? DOES NOT COMPUTE

And knowing Mass Effect 3, it won't be used for quite a while. I couldn't even grab the second one used when I bought it 4 months after its release. I'm fucking not waiting THAT long again.

Truth be told, I'm a little annoyed at the presence of the multiplayer as well, and the online pass is dumb, yes...but I'm not about to let that get in my way. Sorry if I sound completely selfish about this, but I want this game and I want it the day its out, controversies be damned.

Unless it comes with a full statue of Wrex I'd say you're likely wasting your money. ;D

Premium metal case featuring male and female Commander Shepard
70-page hardbound art book
Limited edition Mass Effect comic by Dark Horse Comics
Fabric N7 patch.
Exclusive 4x6 lithographic print of the SR-2 Alliance Normandy
Additional in-game content including
N7 Arsenal Pack - Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
Squad alternate appearance pack
Robotic Dog for on board the Normandy
Mass Effect 3 digital soundtrack.

All that for an extra $20. Not bad since a game guide for the game costs the same.

EDIT: Not that a full statue of Wrex wouldn't be cool, mind you...

Which is exactly why more games like, that try to reinvigorate the genre, this should be released.

Mazel tov! Yet I fear it's going to take more than Xenoblade to do that, although that is certainly welcome.

I know, but I'm saying that the industry needs to stop suppressing new games that try to reinvent and reinvigorate genres in a stagnating market. The only people still playing Final Fantasy are either jaded fanboys or people who can't look past "graphics". Games like Last Story and Xenoblade are exactly what we need more of out there. :D

Oh hey look, more bullshit: apparently EA has the right to ban people from their forums and their games for no reason. More details from the victim can be found here, but the gist of it was someone made a post defaming this guy and swearing at him and, just for the fact that his name was in the post, EA saw fit to ban him PERMANENTLY from the forums and Origins and delete all his stuff. He was not just banned from Battlefield 3, but also Bad Company 2, which he had on Steam.

This comes as no surprise imo. They seem to have the business ethics of a pig in regards to other companies and consumers (and I bet even amongst themselves).
Not a big fan of them tbh and if it wasn't for FIFA I'd probably never buy their games for all I care.
Doesn't the latest FIFA have a lot of technical issues?

*searches*

Yeah, server issues, crashes, errors, gameplay bugs...pretty much the usual fare. Oh and I assume it probably also comes with an online pass, right?
Oh my yes it does... Server issues just have lag from time to time, people who choose the same generic teams (Man Utd, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal), and rage quitters. Online pass is needed but they give you the code with the game. In terms of gameplay bugs there are a few but every FIFA game has them (I always believed it was meant to be put in by them but that's my view). Also, if you change the squads enough and some in-game features (chants, music, and even stats), you're fucked. I learned this twice (FIFA 10 and 12). I like to actually play with my virtual pro in FIFA and got him to high 80s until my game kept freezing due to changes in squads (squad updates overtime, career mode saves, stat updates) and the 12 songs I put into the game. It's sad when I see simple problems rehashed every other game too sometimes which is complete crap (FIFA 9 and 11 have some similar issues as do FIFA 10 and 12)! </endRant>

Back on topic though, they're just showing lately that they're thugs in suits from the way they handle things. Seems like a trend in today's world too.
