Mass Effect Trilogy

Apparently, the whole trilogy is being released for the PC and 360 on November 6th, 2012, while a PS3 version will come later. DLC is not included, but the PC version will include the ME1 trilogy on a separate disc. All versions will include the Cerberus and Online Passes on their representative games. Will be 59.99 USD at retail.

For the 360 and PC crowd, this isn't all that cool, but for the PS3 crowd, this will be the first time ME1 will grace the PS3. Apparently, Microsoft no longer holds publishing rights to ME1.

I also hear ME1 will also be a standalone on PSN.

Being a 360 owner, this is not necessary for me, but I feel good that PS3 owners can now play the games from start to finish. No word on a Wii U version though.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

I'm sure EA will appease the Wii U dudes eventually. Maybe after they've had time to swallow Mass Effect 3: Special Edition.

Indeed it is, but that's because they chose to preserve the Cerberus Network and Online Pass on the respective games. For Mass Effect 2, a Cerberus Network is required to get access to weapons packs and select missions, such as the Firewalker Pack and Zaeed character. Although the Cerberus Network is free with new copies of ME2, the DLC you get access to largely is not. Otherwise, it costs 1200 MP or approximately 15 USD for PSN users. For Mass Effect 3, an Online Pass is required for the multiplayer and the free multiplayer packs. If anything, Kasumi, Overlord, Shadow Broker and Arrival should have been included for ME2, as well as Javik and Leviathan for the ME3. I imagine the Extended Cut will be included however.

Stranger still, the Wii U port of Mass Effect 3 will include all DLC currently released, and a present ME2 port for the PS3 includes all DLC--minus Arrival--yet the DLC for that will be excluded--evidently--on the eventual PS3 release of the Trilogy.

Huh. ME3 getting all its DLC might be attributed to Nintendo not tolerating that strategy. The big N is only just starting to experiment with DLC and have been stated to not want to screw the customer over, and EA really wants to screw us over and make us throw more money at them for the entire game.

That could be the case, but I'm fairly certain that Nintendo's current stance on DLC applies only to their own published titles. I think third parties can do whatever the fuck they want with DLC on the 3DS and Wii U. I'll be surprised if Mass Effect 3: Special Edition and Darksiders II don't have their respective Online Passes when they launch on day one.

External HDDs aside though, the WiiU's storage space is pretty shit. That kind of crap is only going to fly on the short term - for the launch window, maybe, but the longer devs push it through, the more these hard drives start to become clogged, and the more people start to ask why this shit wasn't on the disc to begin with (or as the case may be, why it was on the damn disc and publishers had the nerve to charge money for it anyway). The more I think about it, the more I get the impression that this was completely intentional on Ninty's part.

It also assumes that BioWare is no longer making more DLC for Mass Effect 3. I'm under the belief that is far from the truth. I can see at least two more packages that actually cost, as opposed to the free packs.

EDIT: Well, speak of the devil...sort of. Retaliation Multiplayer DLC

Instead of new characters and weapons only, it brings in the Collectors from ME2 to fight against as well as Challenges to build points for some cool "swag." Again, it's free.

Just a not-so-fun fact I wanted to throw out there: My mate got BF3 last year, played it for a month or so but ended up getting a job and not having time to play it. Just the other day, he logged in to Origin only to find everything on his profile was wiped. Being more concerned about playing BF3 more than anything else, he contacted EA, sent them serial codes, pictures of the box and the receipt (for his physical copy) and they responded to him yesterday, with a predictable: "Lol, No. But we take pride in our ground-breaking, revolutionizing costumer service. Kthanxbye."

If proving to EA that you used your hard earned cash to collect any of their games (overpriced, physical, or not) doesn't even get you that game back... Well, I just can't believe I was ever worried about my Steam Library, way back when.

Jesus, EA... All they need now is a death-ray :P
Good Game

Hex: Yes, you've read the book, you've seen the film - now avoid the game like the plague lest your memory of Harry Potter's epic conclusion be tainted by what can only be described as a short, half-arsed cover-shooter that's boring beyond belief.

Bajo: ...It's shit.

EA always had shitty customer support, now they look like they don't even care . Which is hardly surprising because its fucking EA.

I'm sticking with what I've always said. If its not SSX, Need for Speed or Burnout, they ain't getting $100+ from me.

Also, where they fuck have you been, Hammy? ;~;

It's things like this that make me glad that Valve refused EA's buyout. If they're like that about undisputable physical proof, can you imagine what they'd be like about downloadable games?

Supposedly there's a clause in Origin's TOS that actually states, and I quote:

Quote:

If you have not used your Entitlements or Account for twenty four (24) months or more and your Account has associated Entitlements, your Entitlements will expire and your Account may be cancelled for non-use.

Every source I can find on Google hails back to August of last year, though, but I'll honestly be surprised if they ever changed that. They tried to spin it, of course, citing that it prevents account misuse... sure, if you count "not giving EA money or attention for two years straight" as abuse.
