Yeah, I think I worded it horribly. What I meant was that I wouldn't be able to say "fuck you EA" if I couldn't buy it used and still be able to finish things up. Of course, the same can be said of Dead Space as well.

I absolutely refused to buy fully downloadable games of that size. Only way they would is if they came out with terabyte HDDs for the 360. Oh wait, they likely won't since you can turn any external HDD into one.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

That is pretty much the second reason why I prefer buying from retail. Aside from the whole "physical copy in hand," the file size of games like Battlefield 3 and shit is just too fucking big. And given current Internet speeds in Australia, it would take fucking ages to download a 6+ GB game, let alone two or three.

I literally don't understand how the market for digitial-only games even exists on the AAA front to be honest. Where the hell do people find an internet plan that can cope with that much data, anyway? I want to get Arma II to give the DayZ mod a try but that alone would bust my bandwidth to shit. Stuff like Minecraft and Binding of Isaac's cool with me though, if only for the fantastic "replay value : filesize" ratio.

THIS.

Even in America, there's huge swaths of land that have little to no internet connection, so all this 'you have to have a constant internet connection to play' nonsense and pure digital downloads make little sense to me. Yeah, there's plenty of people who can do that, but it can take days if you don't have an absurdly good unlimited plan. Honestly, there should be a mix of physical and digital distribution until internet providers can provide good, solid internet to the entire world, or at least to a much greater degree than it does. Going full digital now is just stupid.

And this is just talking about America, because the rest of the world is definitely less privelaged when it comes to internet. Over here, the predominant internet is ADSL, fiber optics has barely been implemented, cable doesn't exist and sattelite is too damn expensive and RARELY used by anyone. This is just ONE country in ONE region on ONE continent. Developers need to think bigger considering that one country, or even one region isn't their only demographic.

The NPD has reacted to EA's statement about retail gaming being "totally irrelevant" by saying that, not only do they communicate with EA on a daily basis, but that the majority of EA's profits still comes from retail sales.

EA's still defending Origin, only this time they're saying that Steam faced the same sort of reaction when it first launched.

EA, in a rare instance of doing something...well, good, has officially taken a stand against the anti-gay law DOMA.

After they let Mass Effect 3 slide for it, is it really that surprising? Horrible business practices and basic human rights aren't exactly correlated.

Not surprising, considering EA published games had gay marriages BEFORE Mass Effect 3. *coughcoughDragonAgecough*

EA says that Dead Space 3 has received the changes it has gotten because research revealed that the previous two games were "too scary for consumers."

...Are you fucking kidding me? It was intended as a SURVIVAL HORROR; it's supposed to be fucking scary. How fucking dim can these guys get?

EDIT: Forgot to post a source.

Dead Space 2 was gory and violent as fuck, but it wasn't scary, in the sense of horror. It was disturbing, but not scary. Dead Space 1 WAS though and the fact that they're saying it's TOO scary means that they basically had a good thing going and deliberately changed that because it was...working?

EA, sometimes I just don't even.
