Based on alot of what I've read, biotic classes in ME3 are actually useless except for making the game slightly easier. The game only spawns enemies that are notably effected by them if you have access to the abilities. The advantage to this is that it causes the game to spawn less bullet-sponge enemies(high shields and health), making for easier kills. The common example seems to be riotshielders. |

Heck, the Guardians (riotshielders) will show up without biotics in your crowd. Best way to handle them then is to distract with a drone or a brilliant headshot through the slot (which if you get ten of those you unlock an Achievement.) EDIT: Whatever you feel about Mass Effect 3, BioWare or EA, this scene is too lolsome to not be shared: Start at around 2:06 Edited by Arem, Mar 12 2012, 04:54 AM.

It was, but I'm still chuckling at "emergency induction port." There are a lot of moments like that in Mass Effect 3, and finding them is rewarding, in a sense of seeing personalities bloom. Heck, the crew on the Normandy is a bit more livelier in this game, where many of your squad members will relocate across the ship and have conversations with other members. Vega and Garrus like to "spar" in superiority by comparing feats of heroism, while in the basement Vega and your shuttle pilot, Cortez, constantly rib each other, which often has the occasional gay joke. I'm glad I saw that because for reasons I don't think I could possibly have found it in my own game ;) |

Oh, I might as well let you know that I'm writing the Mass Effect 3 review currently. As it stands it's getting a 9.3, which is less than both the reviews I gave the previous two games (Mass Effect 2 getting the highest). Presentation was my biggest beef with visual bugs and the occasional freeze-frame that is a bit nerve-wracking. And let it be known that the ending actually teared me up a bit, although the choice to me was obvious. Cutscene after the credits was rather odd though. Edited by Arem, Mar 13 2012, 01:12 AM.

In all honesty, I haven't actually watched this because I'm not interested in Mass Effect or it's supposedly controversial ending, but it seems to be picking up a lot of popularity, so I figured I'd throw it up here: http://n4g.com/news/959647/proof-mass-effect-3-endings-were-indoctrinations/com |

I finished it the other day and the ending was... disappointing But the 30 hours of gameplay and story before the ending more than made up for it, a bad ending doesn't kill an entire product I don't really buy the whole "it was indoctrination" thing though, there are numerous holes in that logic and it just reeks of denialism to me There is no time for Shepard to get indoctrinated, the very mission before the last one an AI construct built by the Protheans confirms that Shepard is not currently indoctrinated and after that you immediately set off for Earth and indoctrination is shown to either be a slow process over a long period of time or require obvious and invasive hardware, neither of which happened |

I don't buy the indoctrination thing either. No one in the Mass Effect universe has been instantly indoctrinated, and the maximum amount of time Shepard had been exposed to Reaper tech is at most less than an hour tops, the most obvious times being the time he searched the derelict Reaper in ME2 for the Reaper IFF to reach the Collector Base beyond the Omega-4 relay, and then again in the Arrival DLC, but that was brief as well. Sure he got knocked off his feet in that one, but he was relatively unaffected. You need weeks for indoctrination to become "absolute" as Shiala in ME1 puts it. And I really didn't expect a different ending, really. EDIT: O LAWD, I just found out that the nightclub music for Mass Effect 3 is a direct soundtrack rip from Need For Speed: Carbon. Gotta love EA Licensing. :P Edited by Arem, Mar 17 2012, 07:27 AM.

I can safely say that practically every company nominated deserves to be up there. I sure hope EA wins this thing, it'd be the only time I ever do. |
