I wouldn't be wrong in claiming that it's the exact same game, re-coated with Disney's paint. Though there seems to be much more freedom for dicking about than you get in Skylanders, so that might be a bonus? |

Oh for fuck's sake. There's no fucking way this stupid gimmick should have caught on for more than one game, but apparently these guys know very well how to manipulate retarded kids and incredibly fucking gullible parents that would actually buy this shit for their kids. You'd think at the very least they'd use actual toys instead of a bunch of unposeable statues that act as generic unlock keys. But I know for a fact they won't do that now that they're aware they can still make money by halfassing it. |

Ugh, Phineas and Ferb, one of the few cartoons I can't stand. Don't know what to think until I see proper gameplay, but it does suck that they're copying skylanders. I would expect that kind of marketing from Pokemon maybe. |

Skylanders sells like hotcakes, to this very freaking day. I'm a little surprised this fad hadn't caught on earlier, though that's not to say I want it to, it just seemed like an obvious thing to do. |

I can see this kind of thing starting to catch on now that Disney's keeping the snowball rolling. Perhaps Nintendo or Sega can do something likewise, considering their wealth of recognizable characters would practically make such a game a money-printing machine. :3 |

Sega doesn't have the money for advertising, much less copious amounts of mandatory physical merchandice to manufacture. Nintendo, likewise, probably wouldn't be caught dead forcing people to buy the equivalent of 20 odd bucks of DLC for a single character unlock - not when they can just make Smash Bros 4. I just don't fucking get it. Why do microtransactions suddenly have so much more appeal when they're tied into a boring little statue? Is it too much to ask that they just make a game with a lot of IPs in it and unlock them all ingame? Bearing in mind you're probably going to have to pay at least double the game's original price to see all the content otherwise, and probably more. Fuckin' kids. |

My guess is probably the same reason many people (myself included) prefer physical copies of games as opposed to digital: it's more appealing to actually own the content as opposed to simply having a license to access it. |

If I wanted to own all the content, why can't I just have people put it in the game by default? This in of itself is a license to content developers are deliberately withholding from you, albiet in physical form, and it annoys the hell out of me that there even existed a precedant for developers to cut gamers out of such massive amounts of ingame content for a full-price game, much less that anyone other than Activision dared to act on it. |
