And now the people of Ukraine get a first look at the home/compound ousted President Viktor Yanukovych left behind. Spoilers: Opulence, he has it.

Honestly, I'm truly surprised it was nothing but curious onlookers, the press, and families with children. I'm pleasantly surprised and honestly expected the place to be sacked, smashed up, and burned to the ground as we've seen with virtually every presidential palace after a coup. Also, when it came to the aerial shot, the only thing I could compare it to was the late Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. lol

Oh god, I can't unsee it now. XD

And this is pretty much the situation with all leaders of "poor" nations; they live lavishly and extravagantly at the expense of the people, because they're hoarding all the money. Hell, this guy should be considered a weak contender since he only has ONE overly extravagant not-vacation home.

So the Neo Babylonian palace is amazing if we apply your logic...

IT'S HAPPENING!

Unknown, well equipped, Russian backed force takes over major airports and set up roadblocks in Crimean Peninsula

Mystery troops were pathfinders and advance troops setting up cordons for massive deployment of Russian military in Ukraine

2000 Russian infantry are now in Ukraine's Crimea autonomous region. Supposedly they're reinforcements to prevent a social breakdown like seen in Kiev's Maiden Square and to protect the Black Sea Fleet's base in Sevastpol. The reality is, they're working hand in hand with ethnic-Russian collaborators in what may be an annexation attempt of the entire Crimean state similar to what Russia did with Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia six years prior.

Wait, this is a bad thing right? They're basically screwing up all the protests that just happened? I'm so confused.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

What I don't understand is how they were able to deploy all these guys and not one person was concerned. I mean I know nearly 60% of Crimeans are either Russian or ethnically Russian and probably welcome these guys like having their friendly neighbors over for tea, but moving that much equipment and even violating the airspace of a sovereign nation should've raised some flags somewhere. I'm a fair bit suspect when you've got a bunch of heavily armed guys who are probably the equivalent of Rangers or a Marine Expeditionary Force just showing up out of nowhere in unmarked vehicles with no insignia, rank, or names or anything on their uniforms, they take over the airports, government buildings, and set up roadblocks and begin inspecting cars, and the local authorities are like, "doesn't bother us, they're not causing any harm or violating any laws." Um, what?

According to some other reports, they aren't even wearing gear that would really point to the Russians. Seriously, Putin? You know you're doing something morally wrong if you have to sneak in troops in different uniforms.

Their uniforms are the new Russian digital uniforms only new recruits and frontline units are receiving, weapons are Russian only variants of AK74Ms, GP-25 grenade launchers, riot grenade launchers, and the newest versions of the PKM support machine guns. They also have the new style helmets that have only been around for three years or so. Amphibious BTR-80s indicate Naval Infantry, while some of the personal weapons would imply they're either VDV (airborne forces) or Spetznas. These guys are too well equipped to be local militia or mercenaries.
