So the topic's title pretty much speaks for itself; if you weren't in a relationship or emotionally invested in someone else, and were perhaps looking for some level of companionship, would you consider hiring an escort? Would you consider it something immoral or wrong to have casual sex with someone, and should it be reserved for a more emotionally intimate relationship? Would you be okay in investing time and money on someone you know full well you won't be spending any more time with than the amount you paid for? Okay, so maybe it's a bit more broad than the actual title, but I was just curious what people thought about it. It was just something that came to me (it happens a lot) and I decided to kind of look up some opinions on the matter online. The general consensus is that people want to either experience something new or are just too socially awkward to pick up a date at a bar, or club or something. There is apparently a pretty large market for this, so much so that most people recommend hiring an escort over using dating sites or personal ads on sites like Craig's List, which I thought was pretty interesting considering that, given the economy, it can be a pretty pricey investment. But anywho, what do you guys think?

Now, I personally believe that if one is in a relationship, that's something he needs to talk with the significant other. I mean, geez, threesomes are still a thing. If single, I personally don't have a problem with it. Sex is sex, and the value of it is really in the eye of the beholder. Some may be reserved and choose to preserve it for that one other, and that's fine. Others may be more cavalier and that's fine too, providing they are responsible. I just chock it up to personal preference. I've been on both monogamous and open relationships, so it's something that you just need to be open about with the other if you want to do something like that, however awkward it is.

Regarding information, that doesn't seem to be true; whether they were freelance or part of an agency, most escorts have up to date profiles on various resource sites on the internet, with customer reviews and site verified photos to prove that you're getting what you paid for. Of course, a lot of agencies can be pretty sleazy and provide stock photos then send whatever girl is available. Well she wasn't an official "escort", but just a woman who contacted me through one of the dating apps I had. I was overly cautious in the initial conversation, but got my proof she was real and I helped her out with a little money. It's was no where near that much. She couldn't have had any diseases because she was early pregnant, and her husband was in jail apparently. She had no job, 2 kids + this one, and decided to start doing this business on her own a little. Because she just started and she doesn't do it often, I felt there wasn't anything to worry about. It was safe, and for a good purpose, though I did sort of feel bad because it was under those circumstances. I'd rather have a meaningful relationship than have a ton of encounters at this point in my life, not that I've had a lot of those... which is why I accepted. I'm one of those people who'd be to shy and lack the confidence to just flat out ask a girl to date at a bar or anything. So I've been turning to dating apps for the past few years and only got about 4 or 5 dates out of them, one being semi successful but not lasting that long. Not long ago I learned that in Greece, Escorts are actually legal. I'm sure they cost a lot there though.

You can actually acquire the services of an escort for just a date, whether it's to an event or if you just want someone to spend the day/night with, regardless of what does or doesn't happen after that. They offer time for money, not sex, that's the difference.

As for others, let them do what they want so long as they're not bothering others. Just don't be an idiot and make sure you know how the system works in the country you're visiting (example: testing which is usually a standard in countries like the Netherlands). @Havoc As for Greece I can definitely tell you that even though I haven't gone to a whorehouse or gotten an escort, I know the price ranges. Escorts aren't hard to find in Greece for the most part (unless you're on some islands like the Ionian ones for example) but I would think a red light district is more appealing. Like any country (I assume) you'll find very cheap escorts as well as some pretty expensive ones (but this is obvious). If you're looking for an escort, the cost/price is usually already considered.
