- Underhanded for separating StarCraft II into three games and forcing people to play Diablo III, a dungeon crawler, as an MMO

Oh, all right, since you REALLY want to know...[deep breath.]

I can't stand how much publicity these guys get despite that the games they release are broken as fuck and up until Skyrim barely release any patches to improve performance. Let's not forget how much the PS3 verison of Skyrim was basically a rip for those people who had to wait for Dawnguard. Sure, the games are massive, but why do I want to sludge through a broken game that's so huge? If I want to play a broken game, I'll play Sonic '06.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

I went to check to see if Bethesda used a third party publisher (IE Valve and the PS3 Orange Box) that may have explained a bit of the lack of DLC, but nope, developer and publisher. That's kinda shitty. I don't think they're god tier devs but still the among the best America puts out

I'm pretty much conflicted on Bethesda - their main games are legendary from a raw content perspective, but I get the feeling they underestimate the amount of effort it takes to bugtest something that can take hundreds of hours to get tired of before you even see everything it has to offer. They know the game the size of Skyrim is going to sell ridiculously anyway, so I feel like something magical could happen if they overspent on their QA department. Or left the programming to a third party and just did all the writing and voice acting or something.

Every experience I've had with splitting the writing from the programming ends badly.

Oh come on, Skyrim was one of the few open world games that got content-to-world-size ration even remotely right. Just exploring the overworld randomly there's an absolute ton of forts and caves to explore, and many of them even have their own mini-stories to uncover, whether through quests from neighbouring towns, through a trail of notebooks or just the implications left behind by strategically placed bodies and debris. And even between locations there's a lot that can happen randomly, and I'm not just talking about animal encounters. Compare with a game like, say, Just Cause 2, where huge stretches of land are literally empty save for an occasional upgrade kit you can find in more populated areas en masse, and all the activities there are to do in places that aren't empty are completely identical and get tiresome quite quickly.

Broken is something I'll give you, sure, but while Bethesda games can be described as many things, empty is not one of them.

People actually played through Skyrim?

I thought they just played for a little bit, got to the part where someone says "I took an arrow to the knee", then immediately quit the game to run the joke into the ground.
