Which reminds me, I haven't played the newest alpha/demo yet. And yes, your NPC looks wicked. (Spotted "you" right away :D) They all look quite excellent, really :3

In all honesty, at one point, I'd have said that I'd rather get these games on Steam because, but now, for some reason, I'd prefer getting everything on the Wii U/3DS.

If you love Space Sims (especially Wing Command and Privateer) you should definitely check it out. It's being lead by Chris Roberts with his current studio called Cloud Imperium Games. The game has, and keeps breaking, the record for crowd funding. Which has lead to the new goal of having the proposed triple-A-level game being entirely crowd funded (originally CR was going to go to investors after the kickstarter). Oh, and there's actually sort of two games. Star Citizen is a online, multiplayer persistent-universe, which is the 'bulk' of the project; and Squadren 42 is an offline, full single-player campaign, from which you can import your character to Star Citizen. I recommend checking out the following youTube videos: Chris Robert's pitch Extended Squadren 42 trailer Pre-pre-pre-Alpha gameplay Chirs Robert's interview In-univser commercial for the 300i They are using CryEngine3 though, so if you don't have a solid gaming rig (or the funds to upgrade to one) be wary.
