Preeeeetty much. All the mainstream sites are giving it 5 to 6.5, and that's honestly the score it deserves. It's incredibly average and unintuitive, with lazy level designs and boring aesthetics. The dialogue is rubbish, going from the link above, and some of the voice acting is pretty sub-par. I wouldn't say the ending's a cliffhanger, but it leaves room for future games in a potential (AHAHAHAHAHA) franchise. This would be all well and fine for a studio's first major project, but fucking 5 mil were sunk into this project. WHERE THE FUCK DID IT ALL GO?! WHY DID THIS MEDIOCRE PIECE OF CRAP TAKE OVER THREE YEARS TO FINISH? EDIT: Neogaf has created a thread dedicated to all the reviews out there, but the comments are the real goldmine here. |

Dude on Reddit got the WiiU version early. It's a shit port. - Awful, inconsistent frame rate. - Literally Sonic '06 bad load times. For every death. - Game freezes "50% of the time" from the stage select screen, to the point of requiring a hard reset. On an unrelated note he likens the level design to X6, for those of you that have actually played it. |

X6's level designs left a lot to be desired. Lots of points where you have no choice but to get hit. Hopefully, this will be Inafuckhead's last game. |

In other news, I can't even get the game to work on my laptop (crashes on launch), nor can I get a refund for it. If I ever desire to play it, I'm gonna pirate the fuck out of it when I upgrade from my potato, unless someone else gets me a physical copy for PS4. In the meantime...

So remember how the whole game was delayed for the better part of a year just to get the multiplayer working? Yeah, it turns out the netcode is absolutely abysmal. The host has a basically insurmountable advantage because the client gets large amounts of button lag, to the point of being almost unplayable. Button lag? In a platformer? In 2016? What the hell were they thinking? |
