The Tokyo Fan Festival is now underway and holy crap they let loose with info. Check this guy out for images. So what actually happened? -TWO NEW JOBS ANNOUNCED AT ONCE. We have the Astrologian, a "space mage" type healer job and also Machinist, the previously hinted gun-type Job, which functions as a ranged DPS similar to Archer/Bard. -Two new flying mounts: a dragon and a griffin. The latter will be part of the Heavensward CE. Also included in CE is a figure of the dragon mount, along with two other in-game items, a helm modeled after Cecil's from FFIV and a minion of Kain. -The new high-end raid is Alexander. As in Alexander is a fucking massive fortress in FFXIV that you venture inside. He is also the goblins' primal. Each phase will have a normal and hard difficulty, unlike the Coil. -The new race is the Au Ra, an original race. This is Yugiri's race and Yoshida has hinted that Yugiri may take her mask off in the 2.5 story. I am so hyped right now. |

I don't get how they can keep adding more shit to this game without it feeling bloated. I mean, I get that it's an MMO, but even shit like WoW feels like there's too much unnecessary crap in it. |

It'll play reasonably well on PS3, just don't expect good results when hunting S Rank Elite Marks. The game tends to "despawn" them on PS3 during the more populated hours. Besides that, though, there aren't any major issues. Best results, however, will be found (as always) on a high-end PC (or somewhere along there), especially with the DirectX 11 client nearing completion. Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Dec 22 2014, 05:00 AM.

In that case, I might pick it up on PS3 once I get a new TV (my old one broke, so I gotta play on my mum's TV, and she ain't gonna put up with me MMO-ing on it when she's home and wanting to watch crime dramas). Which reminds me: Heavensward is coming to PS3, right? |

I think you need to lower the game's volume and raise the one for your mic, it gets really hard to hear you, especially when there's action on-screen. Either way, this was entertaining as fuck, I'm EXACTLY the same when I'm playing and I'm alone. XD Also, love the "real talk" in the last 20 minutes. Needz moar. Honestly, I don't think anyone's giving Nintendo a free pass about the Amiibos (if anything, people are furious with their bullshit), but the people really into it are there for the collectible aspect of the figures, not their NFC features. People have always wanted official, licensed Nintendo figures FROM Nintendo, and this is pretty much the reason why the craze has gotten so big. The other thing is, everyone is bitching about how you're paying $13 for DLC tokens, but they're still UNIVERSAL DLC tokens that apply to multiple products that you only have to buy once. I know, it isn't an excuse, but it's a little better than having them exclusive to one game. ANYWAY, I can't wait to get a better computer to play this damn thing with people. |

Kill the facecam, properly crop the facecam's video to remove the excess space, get a greenscreen, or create an overlay to where the facecam doesn't actually obscure the game itself. The fact is that if you cannot carry a stream with your voice alone, putting a facecam isn't going to actually help any. A facecam is another dimension of dynamicism you need to learn. If you're putting it in places where it doesn't actually enhance an experience, such as an MMO verses a jumpscare game like FNAF or Amnesia, you yourself need to be a dynamic personality. (This is not to be confused with OOOO WACKY FACES AND MOVEMENTS) If you want a decent example of basic facecamming, check Markiplier. He sometimes gets a bit too much on the OOOO WACKY when he's not doing horror, but do note that his facecam is small and doesn't have dead space. Also, he could easily carry his videos without having a facecam. And, of course, your audio levels are not great, but that shit's hard to get right early on. You just need to spend some preptime to get it right. Edited by Ekoi, Jan 7 2015, 05:02 AM.

My mic's as high as it can get without the noise actually drowning out my voice entirely (I'm also not very good at the whole making my voice heard naturally in the first place, unfortunately) and I've also both cropped the facecam much smaller and lowered the audio in the software itself. I'm fairly certain that the whole thing will be a lot better whenever I do a thing next. As for positioning, etc. I put the facecam where it is to hide the log window, on the off chance that something serious suddenly happens with one or more of my Free Company members (you can't really predict that shit and prepare accordingly). Anywhere else and I feel it'll actually obscure important parts of the game. And I really don't think my personality is dynamic enough to be entertaining from the outset and I am aware that a camera won't really improve on that at all, but I just wanted to give the whole thing a try. |

Hey, you don't know until you try, and you cannot improve with trying over an over. If the log window is an issue, make a new tab for it that only shows certain things, like pickup logs, local chat, npcs, and whatever excluded you don't want the viewer to see. Believe it or not, but a lot of people like being able to view information on screen, and especially so in live streamed recordings. Granted, the log window is a low-priority item, but is still a large chunk of screen. The hardest thing to change is not the technical stuff, but yourself. It's not impossible, but you do gotta put an effort towards it. Figure out what about other streamers/youtubers entertains you, what doesn't, and work on those aspects. Even just learning to cope with your own voice is a huge step if that's an issue, as you'll be able to rewatch and edit your own content without issue. |

I...actually enjoyed the facecam a lot. It felt more personal and that there was a face to go with the voice at all times. What I think he could do is maybe display some of his swag around him and have it alternate/change for every video he makes. I think that'd be interesting. |
