Timezones, Seeco. That and I can't seem to pull myself away from Ragnarok or Adamantoise at all. Also, heads up: Patch 2.4 happens this Monday/Tuesday. Because of the massive ward increase for residential areas (among other stuff), extra time will need to be spent optimising current servers and setting up new ones. As a result, the game will be unplayable for 25 hours. Initially 24 hours, but that had the game coming back online just one hour before the daily/weekly reset, which caused worry amongst the community. The dev team almost immediately understood the concerns that almost everyone would try to log on at once to try and do shit before the reset, so now the game will come back online at the very moment the reset rolls over. Yeah trust me Sexxo, I would love to Luffy it up and all but the timezones kinda kill it. I would server hop and have the option but it would still be rare for us to be on at the same time. And thats the Shiva patch. I'm loving all this content and will need to get some catching up going on. Jesus :( Heavensward looks amazing as well. I want that Ninja or Samurai. |

So, naturally, Yoshida revealed more info about Heavensward during the opening keynote at the London FanFest yesterday. I missed it initially and it took SE half a day to actually upload the thing to the Twitch channel. So I'll list shit as I watch it. -From the Las Vegas stream, you could see a lot of floating mountains in the Dravanian area, with Yoshida teasing everyone about just how they'll be able to get up there. Well, flying mounts are now a thing, with a flying chocobo featured in gameplay. Also, a FINAL FANTASY series first with single-rider airships. -There will be no limits to where you'll be able to fly in the Heavensward areas (within reason, of course). No designated take-off/landing zones; fly as you want, when you want, wherever you want. Fair warning, though: Only the new areas coming in Heavensward will allow flying, as the world designs for A Realm Reborn were not designed with flying mounts in mind. -Six flying mounts are currenly planned for Heavensward. Maybe more. -One of them is "so cool" that they're making it into a figure that'll be included in the obligatory collector's edition. -Some of the floating islands may have interesting surprises, like treasure chests or rare monsters. -Beast tribes and primals now: You have the Vanu Vanu and Bismarck as one group and the Gnath and Ravana as the second. Ravana is a brand-new original primal not based off of any previous FF games. Bismarck is a huge-ass fucker whose primal battle will take cues from Leviathan's primal battle atop a ship and the battle against Sin in FFX, where you ride atop an airship during battle. You fall off? No raises for you. -Is that all? NOPE, time to learn about a new Job! Official announcement of... Dark Knight! This is a Tank-type Job that uses two-handed swords. Also, this Job will stand on its own and not require a specific class to unlock. Yoshida hints that Dark Knight may actually be accessible right from the start of 3.0. How does a Dark Knight fight in battle? By using not only their massive swords, but also wielding the power of darkness. So a melee-magic hybrid Tank. -And now Yoshida teases the hell out of everyone by revealing that the second Job... will be revealed at the Tokyo Fan Festival at the end of December. Buuuuut it suddenly turns out that the two shirts he was wearing may have been secret hints as to these two Jobs as Yoshida just took off the Batman shirt he was wearing... to reveal he was wearing a 007 shirt underneath. And then starts talking about his favourite 007 things, which may also be vague hints. Favourite 007 actor was Roger Moorel favourite 007 movie was Man With the Golden Gun. -So yea, 007 shirt, gun posing. The Job that'll be revealed at Tokyo FanFest is likely a gun-toting Job. Which isn'that surprising, since Admiral merlwyb carries pistols with her at all times. Makes you wonder about Raubahn though, what with his two swords and shield and all. -That's it for the keynote speech. |
