Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	I've got it pre-ordered on both PC and PS3 after the fun I had in the closed beta. Still waiting for Squeenix to announce the open beta period. I wasn't able to switch my pre-order of the collector's edition from the PC to the PS3 after finding out that my laptop isn't built for the game even at lowest specs and the installer kept crashing on my desktop PC after selecting the software language. It was sold out when I went to check. So yea. I miss out on the bonus content either way. Still excited, though. Especially with how the class system is tied to the weapons themselves. Playing as a swordsman, but wanna go fisticuffs? Visit the respective guild, get some starter bucklers and you're good to go! Wanna go back to the swordsman class? Equip your sword and done! I tried every single class (I think) and they're all awesome. And then, it's also possible to play on the JP servers, if you so decide. Hell, the game even has an auto-translate system built in. Never quite figured it out, though. But I digress. I'll probably be on the same server as I was on the beta, assuming it sticks around. EXCITEMENT.

As an MMO experience, is it better than WoW?

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	I can't answer that, as I still haven't played XI (even though I bought it on Steam nearly two years ago, I think) and I haven't played WoW in years because I don't think either of my computers have enough hard drive space for all the expansions. And also because pay to play subscription fees.

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	No, FFXIV will be pay to play; I just said that I haven't played WoW in a long time because the game wasn't keeping my interest enough to justify a subscription. I'm hoping that FFXIV will be different upon launch as I have a game time card pre-ordered alongside the game. On that note, I'm currently attempting to re-download the beta client, as the final phase of beta testing is set to begin at 9:00 AM GMT tomorrow. I believe this final phase is open beta, so you guys should be able to give it a shot if you like :3 Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Aug 16 2013, 06:47 AM.

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	Most likely Ragnarok (EU/NA), as that's the server I was on during Phase 3. I'll probably start off as either a sward guy or punchy guy. I forget the class names. I think the ounchers are called Thaumaturges... but those might be the mages... I forget. Just keep in mind that this phase is only for the weekend. After that, it's on to Early Access for the guys who pre-ordered and then the official launch.

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	Well, I just remembered upon starting a new character that your starting class determines your starting town. Thaumaturges (mages) start you off in the desert town of Ul'dah, while Lancers start you off in the forest. I went for Gladiator (swords) again, so I'm in Ul'dah. Might create at least two others in the future, so I can check out the other two towns.

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	So Early Access begins tomorrow. if you've pre-ordered and gotten a redemption code, hit up this page (or replace the na in the url with eu, your call) and follow the instructions to download the game. The bonus items will become retrieveable from one of the many Delivery Moogles across Eorzea upon the official launch.
