BL;DR Posts: 3,493 Group: Elite Member #80 Joined: September 7, 2010	This mentality is exactly what compelled me to design Denuo's fighting system the way I did. I wanted something that could be just as versatile as a competitive VS game as it was as a platforming beat-em-up, and I can't stand the way developers of fighting games insist on making their games in such an obstructive, archaic, overall obtuse manner that the learning curve effectively does not exist, and the only way to get better at these games is simply to lose, again and again. This is not fun. I also just can't fucking stand the way their fanbase stands up for them when they do this, when they make a game that literally only appeals to players of the highest levels, as if opening up the floodgates to an audience of gamers that like the way fighters look when other people play them but as of yet find them basically fucking unplayable, as if making a fighting game that doesn't rely on obscure exploits and fucking frame counting is somehow "dumbing the game down", or that it threatens their elitist status because heaven forbid anyone make a game that isn't complete crap to play to anyone but themselves. Honestly, though, I'm just completely tired of talking about it, mostly because the fighting elite can't seem to grasp a concept like this and heckle me like I'm some kind of fucking idiot. Netherrealm has proved you can make a fighting game that can function almost exclusively on zoning alone and still be fun to play even if there's more to it than that, and I think that's all I'll say on the matter. People creating "characters" and being douchewads, plenty of drama and oh god, the cameras. The entire community is a joke that prides itself on being elitist fuckwads and, at the same time, some kind of celebrity gods, in their own little minds.
