Just because Criterion said "we're gonna take a break from racing games" doesn't mean that EA will actually let them! Though I'm assuming this is more of an advisory role. But whatever. Who knows?

Found this in an e-mail from EA Australia (I forgot I had subscribed to mail from them) so I know this much: It'll launch here on November 19. And since it'll be using Frostbite 3 from DICE, it won't be coming to the Wii U. However! It'll be launching on PC, 360 and PS3 instead (and obviously Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when the consoles launch.)

Also, this:

Quote:

New in Need for Speed Rivals, All-Drive destroys the line between singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay. Seamlessly join a world where your friends are already racing and chasing. No lobbies. No waiting.

Paths cross and experiences merge, creating a world where your race and your friend's pursuit collide.

And from the pre-order/buy page on the same site:

Quote:

Seamlessly join a world where your friends are already racing and chasing using All-Drive, a revolutionary new feature in Need for Speed. Singleplayer is no longer isolated from multiplayer: you and your friends can all share the same game, same race, and same chase at any time. Come play in the dynamic world of Redview County where your race and your friend’s pursuit can collide together.

So yea, no online passes, always online gameplay instead.

I still don't get how NFS still maintains an audience when EA continues to run the series into the ground. Seriously, just get on Amazon and buy this:

And you'll get all the NFS you'll ever need (plus the first NFS: SE).

EA has a second excuse for why Rivals won't be on Wii U (and PS Vita.) They're blaming it on the fact that Most Wanted barely sold at all on those two platforms.

Never mind the fact that the Wii U version got limited copies here in Aus, so it's hard as fuck to find a copy. Let's just convieniently ignore that EA deliberately sold limited numbers of the Wii U game and is now complaining about the lack of sales.

You also forgot that it was like a one year old port on the Wii U. Because that's an incredibly way to judge game sales.
