BL posted something about this before, but I think it deserves its own topic since the Kickstarter has...kickstarted.

Their goal is $1 350 000 to get the entire first season out and it looks like this game will be episodic. There's plenty more info on the game's universe and characters on the site and it looks like it's going to be just as interesting as Eternal Darkness.

Well, it looks like the game uses the CryEngine 3, which works perfectly on the Wii U.

So...this happened:

This was Dyack's response as to why the Kickstarter has not met it's minimal goal, with only 29 days to go. He apparently blames Kotaku's review of X-Men Destiny for the lack of support for the Kickstarter.

Here's a video walkthrough of the demo, with commentary:

The church seems identical to the one in Eternal Darkness. O:

Looks like they're pressing the pause button on their crowdfunding campaigns. Says they found some exciting new opportunities to make the game better and things should be back in a few weeks. This may or may not have something to do with how they said they might be porting the game onto the Xbox One (god forbid).

Coming back July 25th. Also, why am I the only one posting here? Didn't anyone else like Eternal Darkness?

I did, but its success would've been practically impossible without Nintendo's involvement. That can only go double nowadays, with Silicon Knights in the crapper and Dyack being the arrogant cockhead he's been since Too Human, if not earlier. Hell, the article you just linked points out Precursor's co-founder got busted for CP, which isn't exactly a good sign either.

I just find it really hard to be excited for a developer that's largely made complete and utter tripe save for one or two games they made a decade or two ago, even if this builds directly off one of them.

Considering what this game actually is, I'm willing to look past Dyack's past stupidity to see what we end up with in the end. At the very least, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt considering this is, in some way, related to Eternal Darkness and isn't some half baked idea that they're throwing at us.

Eh. Not only have the not done anything worth playing since the original one, they've lost every single member of their studio except for Dyack. This game really isn't looking to be very good, and I don't have my hopes up that it'll get better :0

They want people to vote for which platform they want the game on. It's open season on all consoles now:

The WiiU is beating every other platform combined. No surprises there.

What surprises me is that the PC has another whole quarter of the votes after the WiiU.

Of semi-relevance but, NOA files reapplication for Eternal Darkness trademark. Not a renewal of the one they did in 2010, but a new one altogether. I wonder what this'll mean for Shadow of the Eternals...

Probably absolutely nothing.

Sega's reapplied for Sonic Adventure 3 trademarks several times over the years, to illustrate the point better. This is just Nintendo keeping their asses covered all the same.

Eh, we'll see. I think with how this game is shaping up and how the majority vote is for the Wii U, that maybe Nintendo might see some potential in reviving the franchise.
