But then again, she didn't care for the 2nd game... so maybe her taste in multiplayer games stink or the beta wasn't fixed at the time.

You know, the usual shit. Apparently three other Wii U games have gotten their Aus release axed, too. No idea which ones.

Partly because I still haven't touched Arkham City due to the bullshit WB pulled back then, but mostly because they, like every other fucking publisher out there, is actively seeking to fuck over the Wii U at every opportunity. So yea, even if I wanted to get it, the Wii U version isn't due out here for another two weeks.

Because it's awesome, damn thing has multiple endings and collectibles and shit. You can actually tackle the stages in whatever order you want, which is nice. If you want to get everything, it's about a solid 30 hours of gameplay for all three playthroughs. My one massive gripe is that they should've used a 3D map because that shit gets confusing as fuck in 2D. It's also minimalistic on combat, but I'm fine with that, because the game isn't especially difficult. It's just really atmospheric and the whole scanning for stuff really makes me believe that Retro/Armature could do a 2.5D Metroid right if they put their minds to it.

I've been conditioned against buying Arkham games new because I know they're inevitably going to be used as milking platforms for ridiculous amounts of DLC... but the 3DS version won't have any of that shit, will it? On the other hand it's supposedly a direct sequel (or was it prequel? Can't fucking remember) to the console Origins, and I'm worried it'll spoil shit. Still worth it?

It doesn't directly reference anything from the console game apart from saying how Batman put everyone in Blackgate previously (as if there was any doubt). That's about it, you're free to romp through the 3DS version without having to worry about spoiling the console game. If anything, the end of the game sets us up nicely for a possible sequel of its own, or just expanding the universe in general.
