Rocksteady isn't making it.

Batman: Arkham City is getting a follow up later this year, as confirmed by license holder Time Warner’s investor call last week. Seems it went under the radar.

The full transcript of the investor call can be found via Yahoo! Finance.

During the call, Time Warner’s CFO and chief administrative officer John K. Martin stated, “And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”

VG247 own sources confirm that Rocksteady Studios is not developing this particular game. This could nod to the rumoured ‘Silver Age’ Batman prequel that was touted last year.

This could mean a new game in the ‘Batman: Arkham’ franchise is due before the end of the year, or as part of the next financial year. We’ve contacted Warner Bros. to confirm.

The reveal probably won't come as a surprise to anyone who completed the character-based side missions, but I'm definently worried about this one. WB better fucking well know what they're doing if Rocksteady isn't there to develop for them.

Arkham City was wonderful but yeah, I'm a bit worried about the change in studio too.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Ditto, no one has managed to do a Batman game right until Rocksteady showed up.

More here.

Please take note that Rocksteady is not the developer for this game.

Deathstroke is featured.
3DS and Vita game will be released alongside the console release called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate and is headed by developers who had a hand in the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Will release in October of 2013 for the Wii U, 360, PS3, and PC.

Rocksteady not being behind it was something already mentioned before, but now that this is clearly a prequel, I wonder where they'll take it.

There's no word if they work with each other, or are just two different games (a la Sonic Generations).

With Kevin Conroy not reprising his role and Mark Hamill retired from voicing the joker, Roger Craig Smith (Chris Redfield, Sonic, Deidara) and Troy Baker (Kanji Tatsumi, Sol Badguy, Booker DeWitt) have taken the roles of Batman and the Joker.

That's odd, I heard otherwise, about Kevin Conroy. Lemme just find it...okay, here, looks like it was updated:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/05/20/bats-is-back-kevin-conroy-cast-as-batman-for-arkham-origins/

Kevin Conroy IS in the game, he's just not Batman. O: Here's some info on the differences between the 3DS and Vita versions.

I present the first vocal performances for Roger Craig Smith as Batman, and Troy Baker as the Joker.

Okay, as much I love Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy as Joker and Bruce/Bats, respectively... I think these new guys sound great. I especially like the difference between Roger Craig Smith's Bruce and Batman voices.
