So I'm an idiot for grabbing the H4 season pass as part of the limited edition? (Okay I am because they came out with DLC that wasn't included and no one else bought the fucking maps, but at the time it sounded like a good idea)

Season passes are actually decent savings for DLC packages, providing there isn't a Game of the Year Edition released that invalidates it anyway. Gears of War 3 had one that I purchased and it helped me in the long run--despite the fact I didn't play the game that much soon after release. And I didn't have the Limited Edition for H4 either.
