Ubisoft Montpellier is not happy. And neither is Michel Ancel. We all know the deal: Rayman Legends was set to launch two weeks from now, on February 26th in the US and two days later in Europe and Australia. Just a few days ago, Ubisoft simultaneously fucked over and overjoyed Rayman fans worldwide by choosing to release the game on all three current home consoles (PS3, X360, Wii U)... but delayed the already completed Wii U version to September. Now, the dev team at Montpellier have taken a series of photos asking "Release Rayman. Support Ubi Montpellier." with a crying Rayman in the center of the banner saying "please." ![]() ![]() The question remains: How will Ubisoft HQ respond? The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will have the Murphy aspects of the game removed, leaving the Wii U version as the absolute definitive game. |

While Ubisoft HQ has not relented in the September release, the awesome dudes at Ubisoft Montpellier are not actually making a new demo for the Wii U. Instead, Wii U Rayman fans will get an early taste of what will effectively make up a fair portion of the game: Online Challenge Mode. This mode will become available exclusively on the eShop in April, completely free of charge. Of course, there's always the possibility of Ubisoft HQ imposing that demo limit on it. |

Rumours are starting to circulate on Michel Ancel and a few other members of Ubi Montpellier leaving Ubisoft after Rayman Legends is released. Ubisoft has since denied any claims, but part of the rumours mention that, if Ancel does leave, he will still remain a key player in the development of future Rayman games. |

If Ancel quits, Ubisoft will just end up becoming another lifeless husk of a Western videogame developer, like EA and Activision. They've already got one foot in the grave and it's only guys like Ancel that are keeping things interesting. Speaking of which, what ever happened to the sequel to Beyond Good & Evil? |

It's apparently still in development, but beyond that? No one as any idea. |

I came. Also, is this that Rayman something or another app on the Wii U? So it's just those running levels then? |

Michel Ancel was initially upset at the delay, but now considers it a blessing in disguise. The extra six months has allowed the team at Ubisoft Montpellier to take more time to polish the game and add even more content. We'll now see more boss battles and 40 levels from Rayman Origins making a return, fully remastered. |

I was watching a gameplay video on the 360. The way they handled Murphy is just tie it to the "b" button, so basically Murphy moves back and forth between all the hook points and you mash b to have him do stuff. Stuff like the eyefireball things have been replaced by 2spooky green ghosts that act like any regular enemy. It went to show just how fleshed out Murphy is in this game as opposed to say the rush mode assist in NSMBU. Playing the demo, I actually had a lot of fun playing as him~ I kinda hope with the extra time they had for the Wii U version that they make it playable the 360/ps3 way and an all Murphy way along with the mixed path they have right now. I found myself wanting to play the Murphy half of the first level as Rayman to try it out, and the music level as Murphy~ I know technically I could do that with two players, but not everyone has people to play the game with ya know :u |

http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/archive/08-07-2013/#/video-ndirect The new Nintendo Direct reveals that there are Mario and Luigi costumes for Globox and Rayman. The game also features unlockable levels from Origins, like Luffy mentioned. Also, the whole Murphy thing looks pretty cool, me rikey. |

Wait a minute, are ALL the stages so musically themed and timed with the music, or is it just a special mode?

Going from videos, I think it might be specific stages, because it wouldn't be very plausible to have multiplayer in stages like that. |

Here's the third music stage; this time it's a water level based on the song "Woo Hoo" from one of the Kill Bill movies. And of course, a PC and PS Vita version has been added to the line-up. Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Aug 13 2013, 07:33 PM.

So I have a question; you know that Rayman Legends App on the Wii U eShop? Is that like, a whole separate game, or is it just a fancy way of them saying it's a demo? |

Fancy demo. Mainly to show off the challenge mode. Ubisoft will be killing it by the end of the month when the full game comes out. |
