Mostly because Luke did an incredibly candid interview with Giant Bomb last week (in which Jeff Gertsmann kind of tore the game a part in a LOT of ways) and I came out having high hopes for the new expansion. Although this has less to do with the content of the expansion (although I mean, it DOES) and more with Bungie (or really, Activision's) pricing of The Taken King. I have both expansions, and I really would love all the little extras that the physical collectors edition people are getting, but I just can't justify paying for ANOTHER COPY of the game as well as the two expansions all over again, and that's not even getting into the crazy prices in Europe.

Bungie Day came around a few days ago and the guys behind Destiny are celebrating in a few ways. One of which is this: An exclusive emblem that will be awarded to all players who can complete their 10 Moments of Triumph. Said Moments of Triumph are as follows: -Reach level 20 -Complete the initial story by destroying the heart of the Black Garden -Complete the Dark Below story -Complete the House of Wolves story -Clear the Vault of Glass on Hard difficulty -Clear Crota's End on Hard difficulty -Clear the Prison of Elders on Hard difficulty -Complete 50 Public Events -Win 100 Crucible matches -Find all 20 Golden Chests And, naturally, I've only done the first three. The deadline is the 9th of September, a few days before the Taken King launches on the 15th of the same month. I kinda really want that emblem but good luck to me actually getting it because hard difficulty raid clears.

Not only did Marty sue Bungie after being fired, he fucking won. He's owed nearly 200,000 common shares from Bungie, though even though they're presumably valuable nobody knows the exact value of them because Bungie doesn't publicly trade. He's since moved on to start his own game company, Highwire Games.

One of the questions, at 2:07 was "Will there be a giant plot twist in The Taken King?" Luke's response? "The twist is that there's a story in this." Spoiler: click to toggle The question (along with one other) was probably Ben digging at one of the early plot points that was in the game, in which the Traveller was really an evil entity ('cos that's not an overused trope at all), before the scenario/story writer left Bungie, at which point the developer was forced to hastily rewrite the story just shortly before launch. Also, Luke flat-out denied any chances of a PC port. Not to say there never will be, though with Activision behind the thing it's unlikely, but for now the answer is a big, fat "no."
