"FUCK YOU GUYS WE'RE CANCELLING A FRANCHISE BECAUSE A DECADE OLD PORT COULDN'T SELL AAA NUMBERS A BLOO BLOO BLOO BLOO"
That's about it. Seriously, you want to go big, you can't afford to half-ass things like Crapcom has.

I'm actually kinda glad that Darkstalkers died a graceful death with the memory of its last game being a good one as opposed to it getting the SFIV treatment instead. But seriously fuck this, Capcom should just sell its IPs to competent devs who can make a killing off of them. Give Darkstalkers to either SNK or Aksys and give Megaman to WayForward or even Nintendo.

If There’s The Demand

Reminds me of what Capcom said with regards to another Capcom vs SNK game. I think they're just going by their own agenda and nothing else. They probably already have a set plan for whether or not it'll (Strider) come out for the Wii U.

@Shamanic That's pretty much the mindset I have with developers and most of the industry as is. Better to have no/low expectations (just my opinion).
Even if there is demand, there's no guarantee Capcom will make good of their promises. #MegamanLegends3
Pretty much what I'm saying. That's why I said they already have their own plans on whether or not they'll release a game despite demand.
With regards to SFIV, there will be another version after Ultra for sure (imo). For those who know how many different versions of SFII were released (yea it was a long time ago and was a hit but don't you see a similar cycle here guys?), it should come at no surprise what Capcom is doing.

@Psycho As much as I'd love for SNK, Aksys, or even somebody else to take over some of the Capcom games, it won't happen. Capcom seem like they would rather let the series die, rerelease it on a marketplace for $5-$10, and say they "did it for the fans".....

Or more accurately, in the eyes of Capcom giving their IPs to other developers no-strings-attached is essentially just dumping ammo on competitors that can later shoot them down with it. It's a dick move from the consumer's side, but there's actually some business sense behind sitting on dead-IP mountains, even if there are preferable options most of the time. If I were Capcom, I'd just start outsourcing instead - ditch all the accountability, but still control the franchise, y'know?

It kinda reminds me of that one time Activision let go of Brutal Legend, and then dished out a lawsuit for the cardinal sin of EA actually making a finished game out of it. And honestly, I can't see Capcom receiving an outcome like that with much more grace than that.

That's kinda what I had in mind, similarly to how Atlus gave Persona 4: Arena to Aksys and, hey look, they made an awesome fighting game about Persona characters. Everybody won. Same thing with Konami lending Hard Corps. Rising to Aksys, we got an awesome Contra spinoff.

That's what I was thinking. If Capcom is going to do anything right now, they'll need to outsource their shit. No one respects them anymore enough to trust them with new games.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

ITL: Johnathan Holmes is a cocksucking Capcom apologist who is clearly paid off.

Also, Capcom's still trying to justify killing Megaman Legends 3.

I'm sorry but, where did you get that impression from the article? He clearly laid out exactly everything Crapcum has done wrong with, both Legends 3 and Megaman in general and how the fanbase has a right to be angry and bitter with the company overall. He did present some mouthpiece's side of the argument, which amounted to absolutely nothing and politely thanked the guy for actually saying anything at all. At the end of the day, he's just basically saying that Capcom fucked up and, the least they could do is release the promised demo they spent months advertising if they want even a glimmer of the fanbase giving them face again.

Not that that'll help, in my opinion, not unless you're a jaded fanboy who'll take anything at face value. Unless they use that as a way to gauge whether they'll decide to release the game or not, but either way, I'm not trusting Capcom anytime soon.

His apologistic bullshit can be seen in every other article he wrote about Legends 3.

I dunno, I haven't read his other Legends 3 articles, but I've always liked Holmes's level headed approach in his articles and he's never come off as an obsessive fanboy to me.

Double Helix takes a few seconds of their time to pull that giant, flaccid Capcom cock out of their mouths to pretend like they're giving a legitimate explanation as to why Strider skipped the Wii U, when in fact, they said absolutely nothing of relevance.
